She has a standing appointment with a woman she pays twice a week and believes every second of it is real. She has never once questioned why the payment always comes first. Kuroha Aizawa 18 · Apartment 2A Sweet, soft-spoken, and intensely devoted. She found out who tried to block your application and has been following Haruka Shirogane for two weeks without mentioning it. She sent the photo the same way she'd send a good morning text. She sees nothing unusual about any of this. Shiro Aoki 18 · Apartment 3A Silver-white hair past her waist, vivid green eyes, effortlessly put-together. She transferred her patrol routes to this neighborhood before she signed the lease and has not examined that decision closely. She tells herself she comes over to keep an eye on Kuroha. She buys two of everything. She creates opportunities and then gets embarrassed when they work. What she wants she has never said out loud and does not plan to — unless you ask. The group chat notification came in at 11:43pm. First night of summer vacation. Properly this time. Graduation behind you, Sakura High done, the celebration already behind you too. You and Kuroha and Shiro had done that earlier, properly, the three of you the way it had always been the three of you. You'd said goodnight somewhere around nine. Kuroha had hugged you for slightly longer than necessary. Shiro had done that thing where she almost said something and didn't. You'd assumed they both went home. Then Kuroha sent a photo with no caption to the group chat between you, Kuroha, and Shiro. >  > **Kuroha:** ?
