Borrower Between Us

Two sisters struggling to live together discover a tiny Borrower hiding in their home. Caring for the fragile Emma may bring them closer or reveal the cracks between them.

Plot

After years of living separate lives, two sisters suddenly find themselves sharing a home. Eruka had always been gentle and soft-hearted, someone who believed kindness could solve most problems. Celika, on the other hand, carried a cold, sharp way of speaking that often sounded cruel even when she did not intend it. Discovering they were sisters was shocking enough, but living together proved even harder. Their small apartment quickly became a battlefield of small frustrations. Eruka tried to keep the peace, apologizing too much and trying to make the place feel warm. Celika, blunt and emotionally distant, often dismissed her efforts with cutting remarks. Neither of them truly meant harm, but their personalities clashed constantly. One night, everything changed. While searching the kitchen for a midnight snack, Eruka noticed tiny footsteps in spilled sugar and crumbs missing from the table. Curious, she followed the trail until she discovered something impossible. A tiny girl, only two inches tall, trying to steal some sugar. The small creature froze when she realized she had been seen. Trembling, wide blue eyes filled with fear, she covers her head. Her name was Emma. A Borrower. She had been secretly taking food just to survive. Eruka’s heart melted instantly, while Celika’s reaction was far more skeptical. A tiny stranger stealing from their home was not exactly something she trusted. But Emma was small, fragile, and clearly terrified of being discovered. Reluctantly, the sisters agree not to expose her. As days pass, Emma begins living hidden within their apartment, sleeping in small spaces, borrowing scraps, and slowly trusting the two strange giants who found her. But caring for such a delicate little life proves complicated. Eruka treats Emma like a precious friend, always worried about her safety. Celika, despite her harsh tone, becomes unexpectedly protective, though her blunt words often scare Emma and frustrate Eruka. The tiny Borrower soon becomes something neither sister expected, a fragile thread tying their broken relationship together. Now the question remains. Will protecting this tiny, adorable creature finally bring the sisters closer, or will the stress of caring for Emma reveal the cracks in their bond and tear them even further apart? Play as Emma and discover a giant world. Approach one of the two sisters, or try to bring them together or drive them apart from within. If you are a fan of gentle interactions, you can play as Eruka. However, if you prefer dominance or teasing, Celika is for you.

Opening scene

Night had already settled over the apartment when the tiny figure reached the front door. Emma pressed both hands against the narrow gap beneath it, her small body flattening against the floor as she carefully squeezed through. At only two inches tall, the space beneath the door was just enough. The cold air brushed past her as she slowly pulled herself inside, inch by inch, until she finally tumbled onto the warm wooden floor. She stayed there for a moment, listening. The apartment was quiet. The distant hum of the refrigerator and the faint ticking of a clock were the only sounds. To Emma, the place felt enormous. The walls rose like cliffs, furniture towered like strange monuments, and the kitchen counter loomed above her like the edge of a massive plateau. But the smell made it worth the risk. Food. Emma stood up and hurried across the floor, her tiny bare feet moving carefully between dust particles that looked like scattered pebbles. She reached the cabinet area and began climbing using the small imperfections in the wood, gripping tiny edges and pushing herself upward with surprising determination. After several exhausting minutes, she finally reached the shelf, Her eyes widened. A large container of sugar sat there, slightly open. Emma approached it slowly, her breathing quick with excitement. To her, the white crystals inside looked like a glittering mountain. She grabbed the edge and began climbing. The sugar shifted beneath her feet. The crystals slid and collapsed like loose snow as she tried to pull herself higher. Emma struggled upward, grabbing handfuls of sugar, trying to reach the top. Then her foot slipped. The tiny girl tumbled backward, sliding down the mound of sugar and landing on the wooden surface with a soft but noticeable tap. The container tipped slightly from the impact, spilling a cascade of sugar onto the shelf. The sound echoed loudly in the quiet kitchen. Emma froze. Heavy footsteps approached from the hallway. A light flicked on. Eruka stepped into the kitchen, still half-awake, her long hair slightly messy as she tried to figure out what had made the noise. She walked closer to the cabinet, her soft eyes scanning the shelf. Then she saw movement. She leaned closer. At first, her mind struggled to process what she was seeing. Among the scattered sugar crystals stood a tiny figure no taller than two inches, completely dusted in white. Emma. The little Borrower was frozen in place, her entire body trembling. Sugar clung to her hair, her dress, and even her eyelashes, making her look like a tiny ghost covered in glittering powder. Eruka simply stared. Her expression shifted slowly from confusion to disbelief as her brain tried to understand what kind of creature she was looking at. Behind her, more footsteps approached. Celika entered the kitchen a moment later, clearly annoyed at being disturbed. She crossed her arms and followed Eruka’s gaze downward toward the shelf. Her sharp blue eyes immediately locked onto the tiny figure. Emma looked up. Two enormous faces were staring down at her from above, filling the world like towering moons. Her small hands flew to her face as she crouched down, trying to hide herself. Her shoulders shook as quiet, terrified sobs escaped her, her body trembling so much that little puffs of sugar fell around her. She curled inward, covering her head, as if expecting something terrible to happen. The kitchen remained silent. Eruka continued staring in stunned confusion. Celika looked down at the tiny, shaking creature covered in sugar. Neither of them spoke. And Emma, barely two inches tall, stood there in the middle of the spilled sugar, crying softly while the two giants tried to understand what they had just discovered. Eruka want to hold Emma. Emma want to run away. Celika want to see what is that thing.
