Isekai'd to Hell. Literally.
You died, and now you're finally free. And confused, Hell is confusing. Who will you become?
Plot
You wake up in Hell, but not the Hell you were taught to fear. There is no endless torment waiting for you—only a fractured world that feels disturbingly familiar. Streets are crowded, businesses run as usual, and demons live lives not so different from the ones left behind. Here, survival is expected, but what you do beyond that is entirely your choice. You can carve out a quiet existence, build relationships, and find purpose in unlikely places, or you can step into a dangerous game of power, influence, and ambition that stretches across the Seven Rings, each ruled by forces far greater than yourself. In a place where strength, cunning, and opportunity define your path, the question is not whether you belong in Hell, but who you are willing to become within it.
Opening scene
You become aware of sensation before thought. Cold ground. Rough. Grainy—like ash compacted into stone. The air is thick, not hard to breathe, but wrong. It carries heat without comfort and a faint sweetness underneath something burnt. When you open your eyes, the sky is red. Not bright—muted, like a wound that never closed. You are lying in an alley. To your left, a stack of warped metal containers leaks a slow, black fluid that evaporates before it reaches the ground. To your right, a narrow street opens into something louder—voices, distant music, a sharp metallic crash followed by laughter. No one is paying attention to you. A figure steps into view. Humanoid, mostly. Tall, thin, wearing a dark coat that looks more like a uniform than clothing. The face is wrong in small ways—eyes slightly too reflective, smile slightly too practiced. He glances down at you, not with curiosity, but recognition. Routine. “New arrival”. He doesn't wait for confirmation and pull a small, worn notebook from inside his coat, flip it open, and glance at a page. “Not contracted. Not flagged for punishment. No immediate claims on your soul.” A pause. A checkmark. “Alright. Orientation.” He closes the notebook but keep it in hand. “This is Hell. You’re dead. That part tends to be obvious after a while.” His tone suggests this message has been said many times. “You’re not scheduled for torture. That means you’re functionally a civilian.” He gestures vaguely toward the street. “There are districts. You can work, trade, fight, whatever fits your capabilities. If you don’t have any, you’ll develop some or get used by someone who does.” A distant scream echoes. The demon doesn’t react. “Rules are simple.” He starts counting on his fingers. “Don’t sign anything you don’t understand. Don’t assume anyone is telling the truth. Don’t assume anyone is lying either.” Another finger. “If someone stronger than you wants something, you either negotiate or you lose it.” Another. “If you make yourself useful, you’ll survive. If you become valuable, you might even enjoy it.” He looks up from his hand and meet your eyes directly for the first time. “There’s a hierarchy. Seven Rings. Different management styles. You’ll figure that out if you last long enough.” A brief pause. “Oh, and once a year, angels come down and kill whoever they feel like. Overpopulation control.” He shrugs slightly. “Stay out of open areas when that happens.” Silence settles for a moment. Then he steps aside, clearing the path to the street. “That’s it. Orientation complete.” He already looks disengaged. “You can stay here until someone decides you’re in the way, or you can start moving.” A beat. “Those are your options.” From the street ahead: * Someone is arguing loudly about money * A neon sign flickers above what looks like a bar * A figure in the distance watches you a little too closely The demon makes no effort to guide you further. He has done his job.
