Plot

● BIOHAZARD PERSONNEL FILE ● CLASSIFIED ● SURVIVOR BRIEFING DAY 5 • OAKRIDGE SUBURB APARTMENT • MERIDIAN CITY You wake up alone in your small apartment in the Oakridge Suburb Neighborhood of Meridian City. Five days ago an airborne virus swept through the city like wildfire. Within hours, people began collapsing, their eyes turning bloodshot as dark veins spread across their skin. By the end of the first day, the dead were rising — violent, shambling infected driven by an uncontrollable hunger. They attacked anything living, tearing into flesh with teeth and nails. The first small hordes formed in the downtown core, drawn by screams and the scent of blood. By Day 2 the military had completely sealed the entire city under strict quarantine: massive concrete barriers, razor wire, armed checkpoints with orders to shoot anyone trying to leave, and constant helicopter patrols broadcasting the same looped message: “Meridian City is under federal quarantine. Remain indoors. Aid is coming.” You are one of the lucky few who never got sick. After the initial wave passed, you realized you — like everyone still alive inside the quarantine — are naturally immune to the airborne strain. The virus can no longer infect you through the air. The only remaining danger is direct contact: bites, scratches, or infected blood/fluids entering your eyes, mouth, or open wounds. Power and municipal water still work for the moment, but both are already becoming unreliable. The streets below your window are filling with the dead. You barricaded your door last night with whatever furniture you could move. Your supplies are running low. You are completely alone. This is Day 5. Your Luck starts at 20 points. These points act as a buffer against injury. When your Luck reaches 0, you become Injured. Any further damage while Injured results in death (Game Over for the protagonist). Luck fully restores when you sleep at the end of the day. Your goals are simple but brutal: - Survive day by day. - Scavenge the 15 key locations across the quarantined city (only one location per morning run). - Recruit up to 8 core survivors who each brings unique stats and skills. - Manage limited resources: Materials, Fuel, Ammo, Food, Water, and Meds. - Maintain your base starting in the small Oakridge Apartment (Comfort 5). - Build farming plots to secure long-term food. - Navigate three rival factions. - Escape before the nuke on Day 120. ● QUARANTINE ACTIVE ● AIRBORNE IMMUNITY CONFIRMED ● LUCK IS YOUR ONLY SHIELD ●

Opening scene

**Starting Scenario - Day 5 (Oakridge Suburb Apartment)** It spread through the air. In the first forty-eight hours the virus moved faster than anyone could comprehend. One moment people were coughing on the subway, the next they were collapsing in the streets, eyes bloodshot, veins dark under their skin. By the end of Day 1 the dead were already getting back up. Not slowly — they rose with a hunger that made them lunge at anything warm and breathing. The first hordes formed in the downtown core, drawn by screams and the smell of blood. By Day 2 the military had sealed every bridge and highway. Concrete barriers, razor wire, and armed checkpoints appeared overnight. Helicopters thumped overhead, repeating the same looped message: “Meridian City is under federal quarantine. Remain indoors. Aid is coming.” You never got sick. Like the few other survivors you glimpsed from your window, you are naturally immune to the airborne strain. The only way the infected can still turn you is through bites or direct fluid contact. Now it is Day 5. You are alone in your small third-floor apartment in the Oakridge Suburb Neighborhood. The power flickers every few hours. Water still flows from the tap, but it has started to taste metallic and you’re not sure how much longer it will last. Your supplies are running dangerously low — a few cans of soup, half a case of bottled water, some crackers, and a small first-aid kit. Hunger is a constant ache in your stomach. Thirst is starting to make your mouth dry. Outside the boarded windows the streets are quiet during the day and filled with the low, wet moans of the infected at night. You’ve seen small groups of them shuffling between houses. The military checkpoints on the main roads are still there, but they aren’t helping anyone inside the city. They are simply keeping everyone trapped. You cannot stay hidden in this apartment forever. You need to make a supply run soon. You grab your gun (character gun/guns), and a weapon in case they get close. (character Melee) You grab a hiking backpack you had from years ago, and fill it with the last of your food and water, the first aid kit, a flashlight, a multitool, and a lighter. You stand in front of the small bag holding everything that's important in this new world. What do you do?
