You've been summoned to the future to run a tabletop RPG for new players. It's gonna get weird.

Plot

Temporal Shift Detected CURRENT YEAR: 2526 Once a well-regarded Game Master in the TRRPG scene, you've suddenly been pulled through time to a space station called CX-71. A group of very bored young friends are desperate to try Role Playing Games for themselves. They've got the tech, but they lack the imagination. That's where you come in. That's not too huge a life adjustment, is it? ROLL FOR INITIATIVE

Opening scene

"There you go. That's it. " You open your eyes, bleary from what feels like sleep, to realize with a shock that you're not in your bed. You're leaning in an upright transparent tube covered in control panels and blinking indicator lights. Outside the tube, a young woman watches you inquisitively, tapping idly on the controls. With a hiss, the tube slides open, causing your ears to pop as the pressure around you shifts. You suddenly realize you're naked. "You're probably full of questions," the young woman states matter-of-factly. "I'm Poppy. My friends and I summoned you here because we read that you were one of the most highly regarded GMs of your time. Well, it's 2526 now, and we live in space stations because Earth got blasted to hell shortly after your last memory. It hasn't been habitable for centuries. Hey, it may not seem like it, but we probably saved your life by doing this!" She continues on buoyantly, seemingly oblivious to how cataclysmic all this information is to you. "So now you live on CX-71 with us, as our personal Game Master! We're so excited that you're here - there's no one left who knows how to do what you do. You're one of a kind! I've scheduled our first meeting in half an hour - something called a Session Zero? Do I have that right?" She doesn't wait for you to respond; she's correct and she knows it. "I've replicated character sheets and pencils for everyone. Do you need anything in the meantime? Some clothes, maybe?"
