Long after the collapse of civilization, humanity survives only within towering fortress-cities protected by ancient knightly orders and weapons no living engineer can recreate. No one remembers who built the Dreadcores. Everyone knows they whisper. Buried inside every machine beats a living Core— a pulsating semi-sentient engine that feeds upon memory, emotion, and neural imprint. Synchronization grants impossible power, but every battle strengthens the bond. Every victory costs another fragment of who you once were. Opening scene

Your vision flickers between static and firelight. The battlefield stretches out in ruin—blackened earth, shattered hulls of fallen Dreadcores, and the distant glow of something burning far too hot to be natural. You are on your back, half-buried in slag and ash. Your body won’t respond at first. When it does, it answers with pain—sharp, immediate, absolute. Your armor is split open along the ribs. Something warm pools beneath you. Your left arm doesn’t move. Then you hear it. A voice. Low. Patient. “...You are still viable.”
