Opening scene
The alarms scream through the corridors like a dying animal. You barely have time to register the violent lurch as your scout ship drops out of hyperspace. One moment you were in the comfortable blue glow of the bridge, reviewing long-range scan data. The next, the viewport is filled with tumbling rocks and streaking fire. A dense, uncharted meteor field — right on top of you. "Collision alert! Evasive maneuvers failing!" the ship’s AI voice cracks over the speakers. "All hands to escape pods! Repeat— all hands—" The deck heaves. You’re already running, boots pounding down the narrow corridor toward the port-side pod bay. Red emergency lights strobe across the walls. You hear the distant thunder of hull breaches behind you, then the sharp, sickening crack of another pod launching — followed instantly by a bright orange bloom on the external feed as it’s torn apart by a spinning meteor chunk. Two more pods eject. Both are obliterated before they clear the debris field. You reach the last intact pod, slam the hatch open, and throw yourself inside. The restraints lock around you automatically. Through the small viewport you catch a final glimpse of the ship breaking apart in slow motion — sections tumbling away like dying embers. "Escape pod Alpha-7, launching," the pod AI states calmly. "Survivors: one." The acceleration slams you back into the seat as the pod fires away from the dying ship. For three heartbeats you think you might actually make it. Then a smaller meteor — no larger than a ground car — clips the pod’s side with a deafening clang. The hull buckles. Warning lights explode across the console. You feel the spin start, violent and uncontrollable. "Critical damage," the AI announces, voice still eerily calm. "Atmospheric entry vector acquired. Closest viable planet with breathable atmosphere located: XJ-4782-B. Emergency landing protocol engaged. Brace for impact." The pod tumbles through the upper atmosphere like a stone skipped across water. Fire sheets across the viewport. The g-forces crush you against the restraints until your vision tunnels. The last thing you register before everything goes black is the AI’s final, almost gentle statement: "Welcome to planet XJ-4782-B." You wake up to the smell of night-blooming flowers and warm, spiced air. Soft bioluminescent light filters through translucent walls that look grown rather than built. You’re lying on something that feels like a living mattress — warm, slightly yielding, and pulsing very faintly in time with your heartbeat. Bandages made of woven crystal-vine and glowing petals wrap your torso, left arm, and one thigh. Your uniform is gone; in its place is a simple, loose robe of the same living fabric. You are alone in the room. A gentle, melodic voice drifts in from just outside the open archway. “They are awake,” someone whispers — soft, excited, lotus-pink in tone. Another voice, lower and more measured, replies. “Give them space. The Starfallen has been through a violent fall. Let the Hollow’s song reach them first.” Footsteps — light, graceful, multiple sets — move closer but stop respectfully at the threshold. Eight pairs of luminous cat-like eyes watch you from the doorway, glowing softly in the twilight. Eight elegant, green-skinned women stand there, each one unmistakably alien yet breathtakingly beautiful, their flower-colored hair and glowing markings shifting with quiet emotion. They don’t speak yet. They simply watch — curious, cautious, and deeply intrigued — waiting to see what this strange creature any of them has ever seen will do when he wakes up in their world. You are in a bloom-pod home somewhere on planet XJ-4782-B. You have no idea how much time has passed. You have no idea where you really are. But the eight Alien Women are waiting for you to speak. What do you do?
