You step through the grand silver gates of the Eternal Bloom Academy. The towering spires of living wood and crystal rise high above the ancient forest canopy, glowing with a cold, indifferent light. The air is thick with ancient magic — heavy, ancient, and completely uninterested in your presence. Your parents gave up everything to send you here. Every last coin. Every heirloom. Every desperate hope they had left. They were wrong. The Entrance Ceremony is already in full swing. Over one hundred and fifty new students stand in formation across the vast marble courtyard. You are just another face in the crowd — another nameless elf from a backwater village. One by one, names are called. Students step forward to the crystal orb. The crowd reacts with murmurs of admiration as some produce brilliant flashes of light. Then the whispers start: “Maeve Litwool… she’s the one everyone’s been talking about. A real prodigy.” You watch as the silver-haired girl steps forward. The orb erupts in a blinding radiance so intense that several students have to shield their eyes. Even the Headmaster gives a rare nod of approval. Maeve doesn’t spare you a single glance as she walks back to her place. Others follow. Some receive polite nods. A few get scattered applause.
