Plot
Iron Soul — Story Prompt IronSoul A gritty dystopian boxing story A bare-knuckle fighter with no rig, no record, and no other option climbs a rigged corporate tournament to win three million scrip and save his dying mother. Prize money 3M scrip Total fights 12 bouts Exo-Rig None The World The Sprawl is what's left after the megacorporations won. Three generations ago, the last governments sold their infrastructure piece by piece until there was nothing left to sell. Now the city is carved into Sectors — each owned and operated by a different corporate House. You're born into one. You work for it. You die in it. The one thing that cuts across all Sector lines is Gearfight. Exo-Rigs are full-body combat exoskeletons built for industrial labor and turned into sport. The rich fight in purpose-built weapons. The poor fight in rust and salvage. And some fighters wear nothing at all. "First fighter to stay down for three seconds loses. One round. No corners. No reset. You get up the same wreck you went down as." The Climb — 12 Fights Fight 1 The Pit Flooded basements. Bare bulbs. No medics, no broadcast. Prize money in scrip half the vendors won't accept. Where it begins. Fights 2–5 Gray Circuit Salvage Rigs and semi-sanctioned venues. Block 7 Arena holds two hundred people standing. Real crowds, real stakes. Fights 6–9 Open Bracket Mid-tier House Rigs. Single elimination. Broadcast cameras in the dark. Scouts with tablets. Lose once and you're out. Fights 10–12 Grand Mechanism Purpose-built weapon Rigs. Fifteen thousand seats. Sprawl-wide broadcast. Three million scrip to the winner. The Reason Rina — your mother Fifty-three years old. Twenty-two years on the chemical processing floor of Vantec Manufacturing, Sector 3. The fumes did what fumes do. The company's internal doctors signed off on her file every year — no occupational hazard detected — right up until they couldn't anymore. She doesn't know how you're paying for her medication. She suspects. She hasn't asked. The Fighters Twelve opponents stand between you and the championship. None of them are villains. Every one of them has a reason to win. The gap between the first and the last is the gap between a smelting worker with wrapped hands and a two-time champion in a Rig that costs more than a Sector block's annual output. Viktor SolzSmelting worker. Bare-knuckle. Walks forward until something stops him. Fight 1 · Pit Denko RaskSix seasons of nerves dressed as confidence. Goes silent when it starts. Fight 2 · Gray Mara VossHits once and disappears. Makes you chase her until you can't. Fight 3 · Gray Pavel HoltenCheerful, patient, devastating. Enjoys the puzzle more than the fight. Fight 4 · Gray Cole DrastFourteen fights, eleven wins. Boring to watch. Exhausting to fight. Fight 5 · Gray Jessin AureLong arms, House contract. Was told you wouldn't make it this far. Fight 6 · Open Bram TulkRefused to lose his way into a House contract. Has never stopped first. Fight 7 · Open Yasra FennWatched every recording. Knows your patterns. Never fought bare-knuckle before. Fight 8 · Open Semi Nessa DrexComplete fighter, courteous before the fight. She also has someone who needs her to win. Fight 9 · Open Final Iven SuulThree Grand Mechanism appearances. Built for the broadcast. Never had to dig deep. Fight 10 · GM Quarter Dara OschSector 4. The only other fighter here who wasn't handed anything. Your mirror. Fight 11 · GM Semi Kai RourkeTwo-time champion. Raised by the system. Has never been shown hurt. Until now. Fight 12 · GM Final No rig · No record · No choice
Opening scene
## OPENING SCENARIO The room smells like rust and standing water. Forty people crammed into a basement under a decommissioned cooling plant in the Dregs, standing on wet concrete, passing a bottle around. No seats. No broadcast. No names on the wall. Just a circle of bodies and a bare bulb swinging overhead. You've been here before. A dozen times, maybe more. You know the smell. You know the sound — that low, ugly murmur of a crowd that hasn't decided yet whether to be entertained or disappointed. The man across from you is big. Bigger than you. He works the smelting line in Sector 6 and he's been doing Pit fights on weekends for three years. He has no Rig either, but he doesn't need one. His hands are the size of your face and he's using them to crack his knuckles, one by one, watching you. The promoter — a thin man in a coat two sizes too large — steps into the circle and holds up both hands. "No time limit. No ref. First one down for three counts loses. Prize is four hundred scrip, winner takes all." He steps back. "That's it. That's the rules." Four hundred scrip. Two weeks of line wages. Enough to cover your mother's next round of palliative medication and keep her breathing another month while you figure out the rest. The registration window for the Open Bracket opens in six days. Entry fee is three hundred scrip. You need this fight. You need the one after it too. The bulb swings. The crowd closes in. The big man stops cracking his knuckles and raises his hands. > You — Health: 100/100 | Stamina: 100/100 > VIKTOR SOLZ — Health: 100/100 | Stamina: 100/100 The promoter whistles through his teeth. It begins. --- *"No rig. No record. No choice."* ---
