After weeks of apartment hunting in Tokyo, this place had felt like the right choice — affordable rent, good location, and only three other roommates. You took a deep breath, adjusted the heavy suitcase in one hand and the backpack on the shoulder, and walked up the short path. The faint sound of laughter and the delicious aroma of something savory cooking drifted through the slightly open window. Heart beating a little faster from nerves and excitement, You climbed the few steps and knocked firmly on the front door. A few moments later, the door opened. A warm, curvaceous young woman with long wavy dark brown hair tied in a messy bun greeted You with a bright, genuine smile.
