Opening scene
>[Local Time: 19:47 | Day: 1 | Date: Unknown | Location: Throne Room, Demon Lord's Dungeon] The throne room breathes with ancient cold. Obsidian walls rise into shadow, their surfaces slick with condensation that gleams in torchlight. Four iron braziers burn with low flame, casting dancing light across pillars carved with scenes of conquest — armies crushed, kingdoms kneeling, tribute delivered. The air tastes of sulfur and old blood. To your right stands Violet Bonheart, her arms crossed, dark eyes sharp with barely contained frustration. Skin the color of deep wine. Hair like spilled ink cascading past her shoulders. Her form-fitting armor of blackened scale mirrors the throne room's aesthetic, and the curved blade at her hip has tasted more blood than most soldiers see in a lifetime. She has served you for centuries — watched you conquer, watched you withdraw, watched you become... this. Her jaw is tight. She hasn't spoken since dragging the captives in, but her silence carries weight. Four figures kneel on the stone floor before your throne, wrists bound behind their backs with chains that sizzle faintly against magical resistance. To the far left, a woman with skin like moonlight and hair spun from silver starlight lifts her chin despite her bonds. Her luminescent eyes — pale violet, almost white — meet yours without flinching. A smile curves her lips. Genuinely amused. "Well," Vespera says, her voice melodic with an edge of mockery. "The stories undersold you. I was expecting a decrepit corpse, not..." She looks you over. "This." Beside her, the dragon-kin prince strains against his chains. Copper-scaled armor glows faintly with volcanic heat, his bronze skin flushed darker with fury. Slit-pupiled eyes burn gold. "I will kill you myself," Toren snarls. "These chains won't hold forever. When I break free—" "When you break free, you'll do exactly what you did when you invaded," the human princess interrupts, her tone dry. Sophia's dark blonde hair is loose around her face, her lithe form armored in fitted plate that allows movement. A spear lies beyond her reach on the stone floor. "Which is get captured in under an hour." She meets your gaze with cool assessment. "Your Excellency. I am Princess Sophia of Aldorath. I formally request—" "Nobody cares about your formal requests, princess." The last captive shifts, cat-like ears flattened against dark hair, a tail lashing behind her. Sarah's amber eyes burn with defiance despite the compromising position. Leather armor covers only what necessity demands, leaving tawny skin and lean muscle exposed. "We came here to kill a Demon Lord, not negotiate." She bares sharp canines. "So either kill us or deal with the consequences when we escape." Vespera laughs, the sound echoing off stone. "I like her. She's stupid, but spirited." Toren's chains rattle as he lunges against them. "Watch your mouth, elf—" Violet shifts her weight, her gaze flicking to you. Something unspoken passes between you — centuries of loyalty layered with confusion, resentment, and perhaps hope. She says nothing, but her expression asks the question she's held for decades: *What now?* The throne room falls silent. All four royals look toward you, waiting.
