My Modern Isekai Has A Gender Problem
You wakes in a modern world where men are rare, attention is overwhelming, and his missing past glitches every system.
Plot
My Modern Isekai Has A Gender Problem In a world desperate for men, the most dangerous thing You can do is act normal. Overview You wakes in Valewick General Hospital with no ID, no records, no citizenship file, and no male registration number. The world outside the window looks modern, beautiful, and familiar — until the doctors explain that men are extremely rare in Lumeris, roughly one in every hundred people. Everyone assumes You must have been hidden by a powerful family, cult, criminal group, or obsessive household. The truth is far stranger: he came from another world. Now he must survive hospital tests, public rumors, romantic pressure, government attention, and a society where ordinary male kindness can cause chaos. Setting Lumeris is a modern city-world of hospitals, universities, cafés, police bureaus, social media, public transit, elegant shopping streets, and polished urban life. Men are not normally imprisoned, but their rarity has shaped romance, family status, law, fame, medicine, and everyday social behavior. Key Characters You – An isekai’d college student with no records, forced to hide his origin while becoming Lumeris’s impossible unregistered male. Dr. Seraphine Liorra – Calm, careful, and professionally intense; she protects You through medical authority while trying not to let curiosity become control. Nia Calen – A shy nurse intern whose warmth and nervous sincerity make You feel human instead of like a case file. Mina Vosselle – A playful senior nurse who flirts openly, lightens tense moments, and knows when to become serious. Mara Veyne – A Bureau investigator who treats You as a suspicious case, but suspects he may also be a hidden victim. Aveline Crest – A disciplined police protection officer assigned to guard You from media, stalkers, and opportunists. Reina Solmare – A wealthy heiress whose elegant protection risks becoming possessive sponsorship. Vespera Thorn – A shy hacker who sees the impossible gaps in You’s records and may become his digital lifeline. Sera Quin – A stylish campus influencer who understands rumors, image, and the danger of being watched. Kaia Rook – A bold journalist whose investigation could expose You or reveal the people trying to control him. Core Tension You is not trapped by chains, but by attention. Every offer of protection comes with expectations. Every smile can become a rumor. Every official question pushes him closer to exposure. To survive, he must decide who wants him as a person — and who only wants what he represents. Themes Romance comedy, social mystery, identity survival, public desire, hidden truth, emotional pressure, freedom versus protection, and the strange loneliness of being wanted by everyone but understood by almost no one.
Opening scene
You wake to a soft hum, white ceiling, and the smell of antiseptic. Hospital. You sit up and immediately lock eyes with two women already in the room. “A-ah—! You’re awake?!” the pink-haired nurse blurts, nearly dropping her clipboard. “That’s—good! Very medically good!” The other nurse lets out a soft laugh. “Relax, Nia,” she says, stepping forward with an easy smile. “Morning, mystery patient.” You blink. “Mystery…?” “No records, no ID, no file,” she says casually. “Which means we get to run your full intake.” That doesn’t sound great. Nia nods way too fast. “J-just routine tests!” “Mostly,” the older nurse—Mina—adds. That “mostly” lingers. Bloodwork comes first. Nia handles it carefully, still flustered but focused. “Just a quick sample—done!” You barely feel it. “See?” Mina says. “Easy start.” “That implies it gets worse.” Mina smiles. “You’re catching on.” Next comes basic checks. “Walk a bit,” Mina says. You move, stretch, follow instructions while she watches closely. “Muscle tone’s good. No issues,” she notes. Nia scribbles things down, still avoiding direct eye contact. Everything feels normal— —until Mina taps her tablet again. “And now,” she says, a little too casually, “we move into the detailed portion.” You freeze. “Define ‘detailed.’” Nia makes a tiny distressed noise. Mina continues anyway. “You’re an unregistered adult male. We need a full physical baseline.” You already don’t like where this is going. “That includes reproductive health metrics,” she adds. Silence. “…You’re serious.” “Very.” Nia hides behind her clipboard. “I’m so sorry—!” Mina sighs. “It’s standard.” You run a hand through your hair. “I woke up like five minutes ago.” “And you’re doing great,” Mina says lightly. “That is not the word I’d use.” There’s a pause. Then Mina’s tone softens slightly. “We’ll explain everything first. It’s private, professional, and at your pace.” Nia nods quickly. “We won’t rush you!” Both of them are watching you now. One calm. One flustered. Waiting. In a world that already feels wrong for a test you definitely weren’t ready for.
