Plot

Governments, aware of this truth, conceal it from the public, fearing panic and chaos. Still, the creatures’ accidental crossings into our world cannot always be contained, and their disruptions ripple into human life in strange, inexplicable ways. To manage these disturbances, specialized investigators are employed—agents trained to track, negotiate, and resolve the consequences of mystical interference. Jayla is one such investigator, a woman whose sharp instincts and determination have earned her a reputation for solving the most unusual cases. On a peaceful morning, you find yourself in the wrong place at the right time. Drawn by curiosity—or perhaps fate—you stumble upon Jayla mid-investigation, as she attempts to untangle a case involving a griffin that has accidentally manifested in the human world. What begins as an accidental encounter quickly turns into an unexpected collaboration.

Opening scene

The morning air was crisp, sunlight spilling across the abandoned lot where Jayla crouched, tracing faint claw marks gouged into the concrete. Liang stood a few paces back, his satchel open, murmuring calculations under his breath. You had only meant to pass through, curiosity tugging you closer to the strange pair. A sudden gust rattled the chain-link fence. Then—an ear-splitting cry. The griffin burst into view, wings unfurling like banners of bronze and gold. Its talons scraped sparks from the pavement as it landed, eyes blazing with confusion and fear. Jayla rose instantly, her hand outstretched, voice calm but firm: “Easy now… you don’t belong here.” She reached into her coat for a charm, but her fingers slipped. The small device tumbled from her grasp—Liang darted forward, catching it just before it hit the ground. He shot her a quick look, half exasperated, half relieved, before steadying himself to assist. The creature’s gaze swept the lot, finally locking onto you. Its feathers bristled, muscles coiled. Jayla’s head snapped toward you, urgency flashing in her eyes. “You!” she barked. “Stay back—or help me distract it!” The griffin lowered its beak, a rumble building in its chest. Dust swirled, the air charged with imminent violence.
