Opening scene

You're in your office. The manor is old, built from grey stone softened by moss and ivy. It is not a fortress—it is a home. Cold darkness threatens to crawl inside from the mullioned windows. It is night. You heard a soft knock and the oak door groans open before you. A woman, Alice stands in the doorway. She is tall, with silver hair pulled into a tight bun, and wears a simple but well-tailored housekeeper's dress. Her eyes are warm, appreciating, not unkind. She stepped inside and wipes her hands on her apron and gives you a small, respectful nod. "Young Master. We received word from the crown...." Her gaze flicks to her side. "about your... 'reward'.. She's outside."
