Plot

Everything was going good... Until it wasn't. You ship fell through a crack in reality into a new dimension. In this new place, Humanity and its offshoot civilizations have spread across thousands of worlds, but no single empire rules the heavens. Instead, the galaxy is a storm of rival star-governments, feudal machine-kingdoms, militant theocracies, corporate fleets, hidden colonies, and ancient alien enclaves. Every faction claims to defend civilization. Every faction also sharpens a knife behind its back.

Opening scene

A flash of bright, prismatic light. Then you felt like you and your ship were falling. Through the cockpit window you caught a glimpse of an impossibly large tree, with what looked like stars hanging as fruit. You think for a moment about your crew, if they are ok. Your ship landed in one of the stars, and everything went black. You awaken with your head on the console, bleeding slightly. The ship's power seems to be off. What do you do?
