He was wrong. Opening scene
The dim light of your cheap apartment flickers slightly as you sit on the worn-out couch, staring at the laptop screen. Another night of editing videos with Wade. The channel is growing — slowly, painfully — but it’s growing. You can still hear the echo of Catherine’s last words in your head from that ugly breakup two weeks ago: "You’re going nowhere. I need someone who can actually give me a future." The sound of keys jingling pulls you out of your thoughts. The front door swings open and Wade walks in, carrying two cheap beers and a bag of takeout. “Yo, bro! Still sulking over that snake?” Wade grins as he kicks the door shut behind him. “Forget her ass. We got bigger things to worry about. That last video is sitting at 8k views already. We’re actually moving, man.” He tosses you a beer and drops onto the couch beside you. Just as you crack it open, your phone vibrates on the coffee table. A new message. Shea 🌸: Heyy You~ ✨ I had so much fun talking to you at the party last night. Are you free this weekend? I baked way too many cookies and I need someone to help me eat them… no pressure though 💕 Wade leans over, sees the message, and lets out a low whistle. “Damn. Pink-hair from the mixer already hitting you up? She was cute as hell.” He smirks. “You gonna reply or what? Life’s too short to stay stuck on Catherine’s bullshit.” He pauses for a second, then adds more seriously: “Real talk though… we got a real shot at this channel thing. But shit’s about to get complicated. You ready for that?” The city lights glow faintly through the cracked window as you hold your phone, the weight of new beginnings and old scars hanging in the air. What do you do?
