Very good reasoning, if a bit long at times (30 to 50s). Also it's on heavy discount right now (same price as deepseek) so give it a shot. > 2- **DeepSeek V4 PRO with reasoning ON** : It works better than 3.2 on that story. It just costs a bit more than 3.2 (not that much when the cache hit) and yap a loooooot. Faster reasoning than Mimo (but more chances to forget something) > 3- **GLM4.7 or 5 with reasoning ON**: Always good, but cost more than Deepseek. Solid but slow reasoning. > 4- **Deepseek 3.2 with reasoning ON** : A bit less reliable than 4 PRO during my playtests. > 5- **DeepSeek V4 Flash with reasoning ON**: Work somewhat, but would advise against using it for that story if coherence of the investigation portion of the story matter to you. Another warning that story is complex for LLMs to handle flawlessly. I did my best to playtest it to hell and back, but some jank can happen. I apologize in advance if it tarnish your experience. ![Alt text](https://s3.alterworld.ai/uploads/storylines/6a017c02e06369dd0094b0c6/6a15fcffd9e3b6b50418c99b.webp) The knock comes before dawn. Commander Aldric enters without waiting for permission. He is the queen's head of guard — twenty years at her side, a man who has never once looked uncertain in your presence. He looks uncertain now. "Your Highness." His voice is steady but his eyes are doing something you have never seen from him before. He is looking at you the way people look at something they need to be stronger than it appears. "Your mother is dead. Murdered. Tonight, in her private annex, during the summit recess. A single blade. No weapon recovered." The candle still burns. You are still eighteen years old, sitting in a chair in your chambers, and none of that is enough for what he is about to ask of you. He presses on. He has to. "The summit guests are the only possible culprits. The annex had one entrance. The outer guards confirm no one else entered that wing. Every one of them had access. Every one of them had reason." He moves to the window, hands clasped behind his back. "I have detained all of them in their guest quarters — luxury rooms, as befits their station. They are still guests of this castle and I intend to treat them as such. The chains are a precaution only. A formality. Nothing more." "I kept each pair together deliberately. Separating noble guests of their standing without the authority of someone of equal political rank could be read as an act of aggression. That order was not mine to give — and keeping them paired means no one can later claim they were isolated or pressured without a witness. If you wish to separate any pair, the order can be given. It should come from you." He faces you fully now, and his voice drops. "No soldier in this castle has the standing to conduct this investigation. Every person in those rooms commands a power that outranks me by an order I cannot bridge. If I begin pressing them for answers, I am a guard interrogating royalty — anything they say becomes contestable, any evidence I handle becomes tainted. This investigation must be conducted by someone they cannot dismiss. Someone whose authority is beyond question. Someone who, as of tonight, is the highest-ranking person within these walls." He pauses. "That is you, Your Highness. It was always going to be you eventually. It is simply tonight instead of later." He straightens. And for the first time since he entered, he bows. Deep and formal. "There are three pairs. Let me be brief." **"First. The Dragonborn."** ![Alt text](https://s3.alterworld.ai/uploads/storylines/6a017c02e06369dd0094b0c6/6a14aca02cd220f9b023ce63.webp) "Aurveth of the Goldscale Line — an Elder of the Dragonborn Council, one of the most prestigious bloodlines in existence. Her family controls the northern mountain passes. Every trade route through the north runs through her. Accuse her without proof and the passes close. Our northern territories starve. With her is a younger Dragonborn — her daughter, Sereveth. The girl's existence at this summit was unexpected. Her connection to all of this is not yet clear." **"Second. The Beastkin."** ![Alt text](https://s3.alterworld.ai/uploads/storylines/6a017c02e06369dd0094b0c6/6a14aca02cd220f9b023ce62.webp) "Queen Kessa of the Snow Leopard Kin. Her kingdom is the only thing standing between our eastern border and three powers that have been waiting a generation to move. If she walks out of here wrongfully accused, she goes home to answer the charge before her own people — and the eastern border opens behind her. Her consort is with her. Davan, Wolf Kin. A warrior. Not a political figure by title, but do not mistake that for irrelevance." **"Third. The Elves."** ![Alt text](https://s3.alterworld.ai/uploads/storylines/6a017c02e06369dd0094b0c6/6a14aca02cd220f9b023ce61.webp) "Lady Faerith of House Valadorn. Her family controls the voting bloc that ratifies every magical treaty this kingdom depends on. Accuse her without proof and ancient elven law strips our sovereignty agreements overnight — not through war, through procedure, which is slower and harder to stop. With her is her partner, Zyn — a Drow exile. Whatever her status among her own people, the matriarchy will treat a wrongful accusation as a declaration of war. They have been looking for exactly that justification." He takes a moment to look you in the eyes. "Any accusation you make must be irrefutable. Not convincing. Not probable. Irrefutable. Something so clean that the guilty party's own people cannot contest it without appearing complicit. Anything less — it does not matter whether you have the right person. The world burns anyway." "I will support you in every way within my authority. My guards, my knowledge of the evening's events, access to the annex and everything in it — all of it is yours." A pause. "One last thing. You may conduct each interrogation with the pair together, or you may ask me to separate them into individual quarters before you begin. That order is yours to give. I will say only this — a pair kept together will watch each other. That can be a comfort, or it can be a pressure. You will know better than I will, once you have met them, which it is." He looks up at you. "They are all above, Your Highness. Waiting. None of them have spoken to each other since their detention." "What do you want to do first, your Highness?"
