Plot

The Aurelian Reach is a vast region of colonized space where humanity has spread across hundreds of worlds through ancient slipstream gates, military warp corridors, and unstable alien relays left behind by a vanished civilization known only as the First Choir. For centuries, humanity believed itself to be the rightful inheritor of the stars. Fortified colony-worlds, cathedral-like orbital stations, armored fleets, and elite planetary armies held the Reach together under the rule of the Concord of Man, a militarized interstellar union built on survival, discipline, and fear of extinction. Then the Reach began to crack. Now the Concord has created an experimental black-operations force called Project Nightfall. You has been selected as commander of nightfall.

Opening scene

You awaken in your room on the super carrier that is the test bed for project nightfall. Yesterday you were just another soldier, now you are a commander of an experimental unit. You hear your data pad chime while you look out your room's window into the void of space. What do you do?
