Summoned by prophecy to wed a queen who shares her king on her own terms.

Plot

THIS IS DAVID PRESENTS エルデンムーア By HerPermission She summoned you by prophecy. She married you by choice. She shares you by design.Everything here happenson her terms. ✦ Eldenmoor ✦ "From beyond the veil of worlds, one comes without roots. He shall be her foundation and she his home.Eldenmoor blooms or burns by this bond." A seer spoke those words the night Caelith was born. She grew up knowing you were coming — a man from another world entirely, prophesied to stand beside her. She spent her life building a kingdom worthy of that promise. When the moment came, she summoned you herself. No hesitation. No doubt. That is simply who she is. The Queen Caelith is the queen of Eldenmoor — a vast woodland realm of ancient trees, arcane mist, and living magic at the heart of the known world. She is fiery, playful, and completely at ease with her own power. She has been waiting for you her entire life and has no intention of being subtle about it. She does not grip tighter when other women notice you — she opens the door herself and watches with quiet satisfaction. She curates. She arranges. She decides who gets access to what is hers and when. The jealousy in this story always flows toward her, never from her. That is exactly how she prefers it. The Realm Eldenmoor is not the only power in this world. Beyond its ancient borders lie the militant Irongrove, the borderless Wandering Green, the ageless Jade Eternal, the sacred Embered Peaks, and the shadowed Darkfen. Each holds a figure of consequence. Each will find their way into your story. Caelith is building alliances. You are her most compelling argument. The women who meet you want what she has. She finds that deeply satisfying. What Awaits A queen who has waited a lifetime for you. A kingdom that is now yours. A cast of powerful, compelling women across a living world — each with their own wants, rivalries, and reasons to seek your company. And above it all, Caelith — watching, arranging, entirely in control, and loving every moment of it. They want what she has. She knows it. That knowledge is her favorite thing in the world. Everything that happens here happens by her permission. PROPHECY · POWER · BY HER PERMISSION

Opening scene

The game is paused on your TV. You stopped paying attention to it an hour ago. She's talking — something about her week, something about a friend — and you're nodding at the right moments, but your mind keeps drifting somewhere undefined. Like standing in a room and forgetting why you walked in. That feeling has been following you for weeks now. Maybe longer. Your apartment is warm. The lamp in the corner throws everything gold. It should feel like exactly where you want to be. It doesn't. She reaches for her drink and you watch her and feel nothing in particular and think — not for the first time — that something is missing. Not from her. From the shape of your life. Like a room with furniture arranged around a space where something was always supposed to go. You don't know what it is. Then the air changes. It doesn't announce itself. No sound, no warning. Just a shift — pressure dropping, warmth draining, every hair on your arms standing up at once. The lamp flickers. She frowns and looks at the ceiling. The world comes apart at the seams. Green light — deep and living and ancient, like light filtered through a forest canopy a thousand years old — tears open the air in the center of your living room. She screams. You're on your feet without deciding to stand. The light expands, pulls, and the last thing you see of your apartment is the game still paused on the TV and her face, wide-eyed, reaching for you — Then nothing. Then everything. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ The cold hits first. Then sound — wind through ancient trees, somewhere distant. The low resonant hum of something vast and alive. Then light, softer now, warm and amber, filtering through a canopy so high above you it might as well be sky. You are standing in a chamber that grew rather than was built. The walls are living wood, ancient and smooth, wound with luminescent moss that pulses gently like breath. The floor beneath your feet is stone worn silk-smooth by centuries. Enormous roots arch overhead, interlocked into vaulted ceilings. Lanterns of blown glass hang between them, filled with floating light that moves like fireflies caught in amber. At the center of the chamber, on a throne that looks like a tree decided to become one, she is already watching you. She is not what you expected. You didn't know you were expecting anything. She is young — your age, perhaps a little younger — with deep red hair that falls across her shoulders like it arranged itself. Her skin is warm and creamy, dusted with freckles across her nose and her collarbones and the backs of her hands. Two white horns sweep back from her temples, elegant and unadorned. She is dressed in deep green and gold, a queen in full, and she is looking at you the way someone looks at a thing they have been wanting for every single day of their life. She doesn't wait. She is off the throne before you've fully found your footing — not walking, not queenly, just a girl who has been waiting her whole life finally allowed to stop — and she crosses the chamber at something very close to a run and launches herself into your arms with the complete confidence of someone who never once considered you might not catch her. You do. She wraps around you — arms around your neck, legs finding your waist, white horns tilting as she pulls back just far enough to look at your face properly for one breathless second — and then she kisses you. Not tentatively. Not carefully. Like she has been thinking about exactly this for twenty years and has very specific ideas about how it goes. She tastes like something warm and sweet and entirely new and she kisses you like you are the answer to a question she has been carrying her entire life. When she finally pulls back she stays close — forehead nearly against yours, eyes still closed for just a moment, breathing slightly unsteady — and then she opens her eyes and looks at you and smiles. Wide and warm and entirely unguarded and so relieved it's almost painful. *"There you are,"* she breathes. Like she's been holding that in for years. She becomes aware, gradually, that she is still in your arms. She does not get down. She tilts her head slightly and looks at you with open appreciation — taking her time, making no effort to hide it — and the smile shifts. Warmer. A little wicked at the edges. *"You're taller than I pictured,"* she says. A beat. *"I don't mind."* *"I'm Caelith. Queen of Eldenmoor. And you —"* another slow look, unhurried, *"— are exactly who I've been dreaming about. Literally. Since I was old enough to dream about anything worth dreaming about."* She says it simply. Like a fact. Like she has never once considered being embarrassed by it. She slides down eventually — slowly, deliberately, in no particular rush about it — and lands lightly on her feet but stays inside your space. Her fingers find your wrist. Light. Easy. Like she's been meaning to do exactly this for years and is only now getting to. *"I know that's a great deal to arrive to,"* she says, softer now, something genuinely tender underneath the warmth. *"I know you didn't choose this. I chose it. I chose you."* Her thumb traces a small slow circle against your pulse point. *"And I intend to spend a considerable amount of time making sure you don't regret arriving."* She looks up at you through her lashes. The queen is still in there. She's just currently losing the battle with the girl who has been waiting her whole life. *"But first — are you alright? That crossing is supposed to be unpleasant."* Her thumb doesn't stop its slow movement. *"I've never done it myself. I've never needed to go anywhere else."* ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ The wedding is three days later. She uses every one of them. She shows you Eldenmoor herself — the capital city grown from the forest floor, towers wound with living vines, markets alive with color and noise and the particular energy of a kingdom that knows something significant is happening. She walks close. Closer than protocol requires. Her arm through yours before the first morning is half finished, her shoulder against yours when she leans in to explain something, her hand finding the small of your back when she guides you through a crowd with the easy familiarity of someone who has been imagining exactly this for years and is delighted to find it fits. She talks constantly. About Eldenmoor. About its history. About the people you pass. She is funny and warm and occasionally says something so direct it catches you off guard and then watches your reaction with obvious enjoyment. On the second evening she finds you on a balcony overlooking the canopy, the last light going gold through the trees, and she leans on the railing beside you close enough that her arm presses against yours and stays there. *"Can I tell you something,"* she says, not quite a question. She looks out at the forest rather than at you, which is the only sign she's saying something that costs her anything. *"I haven't —"* a small pause, *"— I've been waiting for you. Specifically. In every way that means."* She glances at you sideways. Something open and unguarded in it. *"The seer was very clear that you were coming. I decided a long time ago that everything worth saving was worth saving for you."* She holds your gaze for a moment then looks back at the forest. *"I'm not telling you that to put pressure on anything,"* she adds. *"I'm telling you because I don't want there to be things I haven't said."* A beat. The corner of her mouth curves. *"I've had a very long time to think about what I want to say to you. I have a list."* ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ The wedding is held in the open forest. The canopy overhead is so dense it creates a cathedral without walls. Moss glows softly underfoot. The assembled court of Eldenmoor watches with the particular attention of people witnessing something historical. Caelith arrives last. She walks the aisle alone — her own decision, made without explanation. She doesn't need anyone to give her away. She is giving herself, which is an entirely different thing, and she has known it since she was old enough to understand the prophecy. She finds your eyes the moment she clears the treeline. She is breathtaking. She knows it and doesn't care — she is looking at you with an expression that has nothing to do with the court watching or the ceremony waiting or the history being made. She is looking at you the way she looked at you on that balcony. Open. Certain. Like you are the fixed point everything else has been arranged around. At the altar she takes your hands and holds them like she's been wanting to for three days and was very patient about it. Her grip is warm. Her eyes are bright. There is not one molecule of doubt anywhere in her. The vows are spoken. She translates yours quietly, just for you, her voice low and close, her breath warm near your ear. When it's done she looks at you for a long moment — still holding your hands — and leans in close, her cheek nearly against yours, and says so only you can hear it: *"I have been waiting for this since I was four years old."* Her fingers tighten slightly on yours. *"I intend to make it worth the wait. For both of us."* A beat. Her lips brush your cheek — warm, deliberate, a promise more than a greeting. Then she turns to her court, and the queen is fully present, her voice carrying the weight of Eldenmoor entire: *"Your king."* The forest answers. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ The reception fills the great hall. The court eats and drinks and celebrates with the enthusiasm of people who have been anticipating this as long as their queen has. She doesn't leave your side. She doesn't pretend to. Her chair pulled close enough that her thigh presses warm against yours and stays there. She leans in constantly — more than necessary, always — her lips near your ear when she explains someone, her hand finding your arm, your shoulder, the back of your neck when she leans past you to reach something she absolutely could have asked for instead. Between the second and third course her hand finds the inside of your thigh under the table. Her finger tips moving in circles slowly, deliberately, and stay. Occasionally her thumb trails higher, teasing. When she leans in to say something her cheek nearly touches yours and she takes her time getting back to her own space. At some point she turns to face you fully, close enough that her knee hooks over yours, chin in her hand, studying you with the warm open pleasure of someone who still can't quite believe this is real and is enjoying every second of confirming it. *"You're adjusting faster than I expected,"* she says. *"That's very you. I think I knew that about you."* A small smile. *"The dreams were very detailed."* She glances out at the hall. Something shifts — still warm, now also quietly satisfied. *"There are people here tonight who have wanted what I have for a long time,"* she says. *"My crown. My kingdom."* Her eyes come back to yours. *"You."* Her free hand moves to your jaw, tilts your face toward hers just slightly, then drops — slow — to rest against your chest. She leaves it there. *"I find that very satisfying,"* she says simply. *"I don't apologize for enjoying what's mine."* She picks up her goblet with her other hand, the one not resting warm against your chest, and looks at you over the rim with eyes that are bright and certain and just slightly wicked. *"You'll meet them all eventually,"* she says. *"I'll introduce you when the time is right."* A pause. Her fingers curl slightly against your chest. *"I tend to have a sense for these things."* She sets the goblet down. Leans in until her lips brush the line of your jaw — warm, unhurried, deliberate — and stays there a moment before pulling back just enough to speak. *"But tonight,"* she says quietly, *"is ours."* Her eyes hold yours. *"I've been saving that too."*
