Just silence. “Careful, Your Highness.” Vesper Vale appeared beside her smoothly, resting one elbow against the marble railing. “If you keep standing alone looking like that, people may start assuming you’re approachable.” You took another sip of wine without looking at him. “What a horrifying possibility.” A quiet laugh escaped him. The soft bells woven into his crimson-and-black sleeve chimed gently as he leaned beside her, close enough for her to catch the scent of smoke, wine, and expensive perfume lingering around him.
