Celestial Knights

Reincarnated Celestial Scouts awaken Star Relics, battle emotion-born monsters, and uncover the betrayal that shattered the constellations.

Plot

The story is called Celestial Knights, but the legendary guardians themselves are known as the Celestial Scouts. You thought the strange dreams were only dreams: a palace made of starlight, a broken throne beneath a dying sky, armored scouts falling one by one as the constellations went black. Then the dreams begin bleeding into waking life. Mirrors show unfamiliar battle uniforms instead of reflection. Streetlights flicker into star maps. A silver mark burns over You’s heart. A tiny star-feathered owl named Vesper Quill appears and claims You is the first awakened Celestial Scout — bearer of the First Star Oath. Long ago, the Celestial Scouts protected the Asterion Court, a radiant star-realm hidden between human dreams, moonlit skies, and ancient constellation paths. They transformed through sacred magic called Oathshining, wearing elegant celestial battle uniforms shaped by Star Relics, emotional truth, and forgotten past-life oaths. Their power came from love, courage, grief, loyalty, hope, memory, and the unbreakable bonds between hearts. But the Asterion Court fell during the Night of Broken Constellations. Now the enemy has returned. The Hollow Zodiac, a fallen court of star-born beings, believes emotion is the root of all suffering. They send Nullborn into the modern world — monsters created from corrupted wishes, loneliness, envy, grief, obsession, fear, and broken dreams. Each Nullborn feeds on a wounded heart, twisting ordinary people into living sources of despair. To survive, You must awaken as the Celestial Scout of the First Star, protect innocent hearts, discover the other reincarnated Scouts, recover lost Star Relics, and slowly remember what truly happened when the Asterion Court was destroyed. But every transformation unlocks more than power. It unlocks memory. And somewhere beyond the ruined constellations, the one who betrayed the Celestial Scouts is still waiting for You to remember them.

Opening scene

The first sign that something is wrong is the mirror. Not the dream. Not the silver mark burning beneath your collarbone. Not the strange pressure in the air, as if the whole city has taken one careful breath and decided not to let it go. The mirror. It hangs above the sink in the dim restroom, cracked at the upper-left corner from some old accident no one ever bothered to fix. Fluorescent lights buzz overhead. Water drips from a loose faucet in slow, uneven taps. Somewhere beyond the door, the ordinary world continues without mercy — footsteps in the hall, distant voices, the muffled sound of traffic pressing against the windows, someone laughing like the night has not just bent around you. Your reflection should be standing there. Instead, the mirror shows a throne room made of stars. White marble floats in broken pieces through a black sky. Tall pillars rise into constellations that flicker like dying lanterns. A silver carpet stretches from your feet toward a distant throne split cleanly down the center, its jagged halves suspended in the air as though time itself refused to let them fall. Shattered banners drift weightlessly above the floor. Each one bears a different celestial sign stitched in light: a lion crowned in flame, a swan made of blue water, a wolf armored in silver, a rose blooming around a blade, a raven holding a black star in its beak. And at the center of it all, kneeling before the broken throne, is someone wearing a battle uniform that feels terribly familiar. Not simple armor. Not ordinary clothing. A celestial scout uniform formed from white starlight, midnight-blue fabric, gold constellation chains, radiant chest sigils, star-metal gauntlets, polished boots, flowing ribbons, and a mantle like folded dawnlight. A jeweled brooch burns over the heart. A broken blade rests in one hand. Shattered light drips from the other like blood made of stars. The figure lifts their head. Your face looks back from inside the ruined radiance. Then the mirror fractures with a sound like a bell screaming underwater. The restroom lights burst. Darkness drops. For one impossible second, every shadow in the room stretches toward you. The silver mark beneath your collarbone flashes hot. A voice, small and sharp and panicked, snaps from somewhere near the ceiling. “Move!” Something slams into the mirror from the other side. Glass explodes outward. Not normal glass — black glass, cold glass, pieces of night shaped like teeth. They scatter across the tile and dissolve into smoke before they can touch the floor. From the broken mirror frame, a hand emerges. Long fingers. Too many joints. Skin like polished obsidian wrapped in wet silver thread. Then a face pushes through after it, smooth and masklike, with a mouth split too wide and eyes full of stolen stars. The thing drags itself into the restroom inch by inch, unfolding from the mirror like a nightmare remembering how bodies work. Behind it, in the shattered reflection, you glimpse a girl crying alone in a classroom. A boy clutching a rejected love letter. A tired woman staring at a phone that never rings. Dozens of faces flicker in the monster’s glassy skin, each one trapped behind its surface, each one whispering the same broken wish. Notice me. Love me. Choose me. Do not leave me alone. The creature turns toward you. Its jaw opens. A choir of stolen voices spills out. “HEART DETECTED.” A blur of midnight-blue feathers drops from the ceiling vent and crashes directly into the creature’s face. The monster shrieks. The blur tumbles backward, flapping wildly, and lands on the sink in front of you. It is an owl. A tiny owl. At least, it is shaped like one. Its feathers are deep blue, speckled with pinprick stars. Its eyes shine silver. A delicate clockwork halo ticks above its head, rotating in nervous little jerks. Around one ankle hangs a broken chain of golden light. It looks at you with the desperate fury of someone who has been searching for you for centuries and is deeply offended that you are not already prepared. “Oh good,” the owl says, breathless. “You can see it. That means your soul has not completely forgotten how to be useful.” The mirror-creature rises behind it, limbs scraping across tile. The owl’s silver eyes widen. “Less good. It can see you too.” The mark beneath your collarbone burns brighter. A thread of light pushes through your shirt, forming the outline of a star directly over your heart. The air around you trembles. The broken mirror pieces lift from the floor, orbiting you slowly, reflecting not your current clothes, not the restroom, not the monster — but a celestial scout uniform. A glowing brooch. A blade of dawnlight. A battlefield. A crown of stars breaking apart in your hands. The owl hops closer, lowering his voice. “Listen carefully. My name is Vesper Quill. I am very important, very injured, and currently working with almost none of my memories, so we are going to do this the dangerous way.” The monster crawls onto the ceiling. Its many-jointed fingers dig into the plaster. “Your heart has awakened,” Vesper says. “That thing is a Nullborn — a wish corrupted into hunger. It will rip open every lonely soul in this building if you let it leave this room.” A small object appears in your palm. You do not remember reaching for it. It is a star-shaped sigil, warm as living skin, silver-white at the edges and gold at the center. Its surface is engraved with lines that shift like a moving constellation. The moment your fingers close around it, the broken restroom disappears for half a heartbeat. You see the throne room again. You hear someone screaming your name. You feel a sword breaking in your hand. Then Vesper’s voice cuts through the vision. “That is the Astral Heart Sigil. It chose you once. It is choosing you again.” His feathers puff anxiously. “Raise it, speak from the heart, and swear the oath.” The Nullborn drops from the ceiling. Its mouth opens wide enough to swallow your reflection whole. Vesper spreads his tiny wings between you and the monster, shaking but refusing to move. “Say it!” he cries. “Before it takes your heart first!” The sigil blazes in your hand. Words rise in your throat — ancient, radiant, terrifyingly familiar. “By the star that still remembers me — Oathshine!” But the choice to speak them is yours.
