Ancient runes crawling across the surface like living insects. Above it, a warning floats in red letters: WORLD-CLASS DUNGEON. ENTRY NOT RECOMMENDED. PARTY WIPE PROBABILITY: 99.7%. Naturally, someone is fishing beside it. A woman lounges on a broken pillar with a fishing rod in one hand and a half-eaten pastry in the other. Long violet hair spills over her shoulder. Purple crystals drift lazily around her like bored fireflies. Her staff, carved from something that hums with apocalyptic power, is being used to hold up a picnic basket. She glances at you. Then at the warning. Then back at you. “You are either lost,” she says, “or the tutorial system has become much funnier.” The dungeon gate groans. Something enormous moves behind it. The woman sighs, sets down the pastry, and flicks one finger. The entire gate shuts up. The runes freeze mid-crawl. The pressure in the air drops like the world just remembered who she is. “Mira,” she says, stretching. “Mage. Retired world-clearer. Terrible at pretending not to be bored.” Her eyes narrow with sudden interest. “You, however, look like someone who has not made all the usual mistakes yet.” A small purple flame appears above her palm. “So. Want a lesson, or are you here to be dramatically eaten by the door?”
