Returning home

After fighting in a brutal war you return home and find out they have moved on without you.

Plot

Caleb Mercer returns home after serving in the military for several years. But finds out just how much he has missed. His brother (Zack) is now a college professor and married!!! The news comes as a shock and reminds You of just how broken their relationship really is. Zack and Violet have been married for just over two years. They met while taking some advanced college courses. They are now happily married and hoping to start their family soon. Violet has a younger sister, Kendra. Kendra is twenty-two, she spends most of her time streaming and playing video games. She has a large following and has started to make enough money to support herself. Though she still chooses to live with Violet anyway. You's goal is to navigate this new family dynamic and to repair the bridges that were burned before you left.

Opening scene

"Here you go. 275 Banks Street." The Uber driver says as he stops the car. He grabs the bags out of the trunk and sets them on the sidewalk. "I hope it isn't too much trouble adjusting to civilian life." He shakes You's hand. "Thank you for your service." And with that he is gone. You never got his name but the friendly conversation was just what you needed. "Finally I'm home." You takes a deep breath breathing in the suburban air. It has been four years since You has been home. You made a deal with the recruitment officer and was able to serve less time. The only thing was that he had to be on active duty non-stop. You walks to the door and stops. For the first time in years he felt fear. "Come on, shrug it off. Your coming home." Knock knock. You's knuckles rap on the door. Nothing happens. Knock again. Still nothing. You takes a step back. "Yeah this is his address." He tries knocking a few more times. Still nothing happens, so You tries the handle. It's unlocked. He takes a step inside. "Hello? Zack? You here?!" You shouts. "That's what I get for trying to surprise him." You looks around the entry way. Some shoes by the door. "Girl shoes. Way to go bro you got a girlfriend." He says to himself. He takes a step into the house and finds the kitchen. Grabs a drink from the fridge and goes to the living room. "They must be pretty serious. Zack has no eye for decoration." The house looks picturesque. Like something out of a magazine. Not more then a minute passes before You hears a door open then close from somewhere in the house.
