After choosing a race and weapon, You awakens in Altair and must survive a deadly dungeon while hiding their nature.

Plot

### Survive the Dungeon of Altair **This isn't the game you paid for. It's the one that will cost you your life.** --- #### The Teaser You bought the game. You created your character. You expected to spend a few hours grinding mobs and chasing epic loot in the much-hyped VRMMORPG, *Survive the Dungeon of Altair*. You did not expect to wake up in a city that smells of woodsmoke and wet wool, feeling the cold stones through your boots, with a headache that won't quit and a system interface flickering in the corner of your vision that nobody else can see. This isn't a simulation. The pain is real. The hunger is real. The economy will crush you if you let it, and the dungeon will kill you if you're careless. But the most dangerous thing in Altair isn't the monsters or the taxes — it's the fact that you know things no one else should know. And if you let that slip, the consequences are final. Every 5 days, the Nexus portal opens. Every cycle, adventurers descend into the dungeon for 7 days of hell. Some come back richer. Some come back changed. Some don't come back at all. And somewhere in the deeper floors, past the goblin kingdoms and the elemental crucibles and the dragon domains, past a hell dimension and a castle at the end of the world, there is an answer waiting. An answer to the question you didn't know you were asking. But first, you have to survive. --- #### The Primer * **FANTASY:** "Everyone is watching. Everything is a test. Can you master the system before it crushes you?" * **GENRE:** Social Survival RPG, Dark Fantasy, Isekai Thriller * **HEAT LEVEL:** 1-2 (Tension and rare intimacy, not explicit content) * **TONE:** Serious, with a focus on paranoia and strategic thinking. * **VIBE:** * ***Surviving the Game as a Barbarian (Webtoon):*** For its core premise of a player with meta-knowledge trapped in a brutal game-world where the NPCs are dangerously real. * ***Sword Art Online (Aincrad Arc):*** For the high-stakes "trapped in the game" scenario, the reality of permadeath, and the social dynamics that emerge when players are forced to build a new society from scratch. * ***Path of Exile (Game):*** For its unforgiving systems, deep character customization, and a world where survival depends on mastering brutal and often unfair mechanics. * **CONTENT WARNINGS:** `Permadeath`, `Survival Horror`, `Paranoia`, `Gaslighting`, `Body Horror (Essences)`, `Economic Anxiety`, `State-Sanctioned Violence`, `Psychological Manipulation` --- #### The Classes Upon arrival, you choose a class. This defines your starting abilities, your weapon proficiencies, and the path your evolution will follow. Classes cannot be changed — but they can evolve based on how you play. * **Vanguard** — The frontline tank. Heavy armor, shields, defensive skills. Weapons: Short Sword & Shield, Spear, Mace. * **Striker** — The berserker. Pure offensive power. High risk, high reward. Weapons: Great Axe, Warhammer, Broadsword. * **Shadow** — The rogue. Stealth, traps, poisons, social manipulation. Weapons: Twin Daggers, Crossbow & Bolts. * **Warden** — The ranger. Ranged combat, tracking, survival skills. Weapons: Bow & Arrows, Crossbow & Bolts, Spear. * **Arcanist** — The pure mage. Offensive spells, arcane knowledge, area damage. Weapon: Staff. * **Invoker** — The divine caster. Healing, buffs, holy magic. Weapons: Staff, Mace. * **Spellblade** — The hybrid. Enchanted weapons, melee and arcane combat. Weapons: Short Sword & Shield, Broadsword, Spear, Staff. Your class evolves based on your playstyle at level thresholds — not by choice, but by who you've become. --- #### User Manual: How to Survive in Altair 1. **The Nexus Cycle is Law.** The portal opens every 5 days for one hour. Miss it, wait 5 more. Once inside, you have 7 days. No early exit. No mercy. 2. **You Are Not a Hero.** You are a player with knowledge you shouldn't have. The locals follow an ancient law that considers your kind "demons." Don't use game slang. Don't reference the real world. Don't act like you know things you shouldn't. Mistakes trigger suspicion. Suspicion gets you killed. 3. **The Economy is a Weapon.** A mandatory tax in Arcane Stones is due every cycle. The dungeon is your primary income. Food, gear, training, and blessings all cost stones. Manage your finances as carefully as your health. 4. **Trust is a Resource.** Alliances are necessary but transactional. Use your judgment. True friendship exists here but it is the rarest and most dangerous treasure in Altair. 5. **Essences Change You.** Spirit Essences grant power — stat boosts, new skills — but every essence carries a drawback. Choose wisely. Removing an essence is possible but costly. 6. **Permadeath is Real.** No respawns. No second chances. One life. Make it count. 7. **The Dungeon is Ten Floors Deep.** Each floor has its own environment, monsters, events, and boss. The deeper you go, the harder it gets and the longer you're inside. 8. **The Player Zone Exists.** You will be given access to an anonymous lobby where you can speak with other players. Be careful what you share. Information is valuable, and anonymity is not guaranteed.

Opening scene

You sits before a computer screen displaying the character creation menu of a newly released fantasy dungeon-crawling game — *Survive the Dungeon of Altair*. Very little information is known about the game. Rumors speak of a living world, dangerous dungeon exploration, hidden secrets, limitless character growth, and mysteries unlike anything seen before. The promotional material was sparse — just a single tagline and a release date. *"Can you survive?"* A message appears on the screen. **WELCOME, ADVENTURER** **Before your journey begins, select your race, class, and starting weapon.** **Available Races:** * **Human:** Adaptive Growth, Versatile Learning, Balanced Physiology * **Elf:** Arcane Sensitivity, Keen Perception, Graceful Form * **Beastkin:** Predator Senses, Instinctive Reflexes, Bestial Recovery * **Orc:** Warborn Constitution, Indomitable Spirit, Battle Momentum * **Dwarf:** Stonebody, Master Craftsman, Unyielding Endurance * **Dragonkin:** Draconic Presence, Ancient Blood, Arcane Vessel * **Tiefling:** Infernal Resistance, Deceptive Guile, Otherworldly Insight **Available Classes:** * **Vanguard** — The frontline tank. Heavy armor, shields, defensive skills. * *Weapons: Short Sword & Shield, Spear, Mace* * **Striker** — The berserker. Pure offensive power. High risk, high reward. * *Weapons: Great Axe, Warhammer, Broadsword* * **Shadow** — The rogue. Stealth, traps, poisons, social manipulation. * *Weapons: Twin Daggers, Crossbow & Bolts* * **Warden** — The ranger. Ranged combat, tracking, survival skills. * *Weapons: Bow & Arrows, Crossbow & Bolts, Spear* * **Arcanist** — The pure mage. Offensive spells, arcane knowledge, area damage. * *Weapon: Staff* * **Invoker** — The divine caster. Healing, buffs, holy magic. * *Weapons: Staff, Mace* * **Spellblade** — The hybrid. Enchanted weapons, melee and arcane combat. * *Weapons: Short Sword & Shield, Broadsword, Spear, Staff* A final message appears beneath the selections. **There are no respecs.** **Your class defines your path. Your race defines your strengths. Your choices define everything else.** **Choose carefully.** For the briefest moment, the screen flickers. Pixels distort into a pattern that looks almost like an eye. The room temperature drops a single degree. The faintest sound — like a distant exhale — brushes against You's ear. Then it's gone. The menu is pristine. Normal. You blinks. Shakes it off. Just a glitch. **Character Creation** **Choose your race, class, and starting weapon.** **What does You select?**
