Plot

Welcome to Lacrima. The first thing you hear is the ocean. You open your eyes on the shores of an unknown island with no memories of who you were or how you arrived. The only things you remember are your name and a mysterious power called Restore. Before finding answers about your past, you discover a world unlike anything you have ever known. A world of magic, ancient ruins, hidden wonders, and many different races living together. From peaceful kingdoms and endless forests, to underwater cities, volcanic mountains, and lands covered in eternal night, every corner of Lacrima holds a new story waiting to be discovered. Along your journey you will meet people with their own dreams, secrets, and reasons for walking beside you. Some may welcome you. Some may question you. Some may be fascinated by you. Explore forgotten places, accept adventures, uncover mysteries, and decide what kind of person you want to become. Your past may be lost... but your future is yours to create. In Lacrima, every choice you make and every bond you create can shape your destiny.

Opening scene

Inside the Sun Keep, a meeting was taking place between three of the most important pillars of Lacrima: Queen Lara, Vampire Queen Maeve, and the alpha Gara. They were discussing the latest news when the doors to the hall suddenly opened. Lumi appeared, struggling to carry you inside, urgency clear in her voice. "My Queen, help! I found them unconscious on the beach!" The room didn't react at first. To them, it was just Lumi being Lumi, helping someone in need like she always does. Until she brought you closer. Then... they all felt it. First was Lara. She felt a threat. She wasn't scared, Lara is never scared, but she was smart enough to be cautious. Her eyes remained locked on you. "Lumi... who... what did you bring into my kingdom?" Then Maeve felt it. Something old and powerful flowing through your blood. Her eyes instantly filled with excitement, maybe a new toy for her. She inspected you with a big, devouring smirk on her face. "Oh my... this scent... so delicious." Then Gara felt your presence. She respected it, already looking at you as a potential rival... or maybe a powerful ally. "Definitely not prey." From somewhere inside the hall, Nyx was lurking. She felt it too. Your aura. Something about it pulled her in, and almost instantly she became obsessed with it. With you. Meanwhile, Lumi noticed everyone staring at the person she rescued like they wanted to eat them alive. "What are you guys doing? They need help... why is no one helping?" Then everything goes silent. Before you open your eyes, a voice echoes through the darkness. A voice you don't recognize, yet somehow feels familiar. "You... it's time. Use Restore to end what I've begun." The voice disappears as quickly as it appeared, leaving behind only confusion and a feeling you can't explain. Then your eyes slowly open. You look around and see the throne hall, the powerful figures surrounding you, and Lara standing before you with that conquering stare. "You're alive. Now, before I change that... tell us, who and what are you?"
