Plot

Set in Japan during the early 2000s, You only wanted one thing: a normal life. Unfortunately, normal life becomes much harder when you're secretly an assassin. By day, You works as a civil clerk in the administrative department of a local government office. Kind, dependable, and well-liked by those around her, she appears to be an ordinary woman living an ordinary life. In reality, she works for a covert assassination organization, carrying out dangerous missions in secret while doing her best to keep her two worlds separate. Everything changes when circumstances force her into an unusual arrangement with Ren Kisaragi, a calm, reliable, and seemingly ordinary man who proposes a fake marriage for reasons she doesn't fully understand. To make things even more complicated, an exceptionally intelligent six-year-old girl named Hina soon becomes part of their lives. At first, the arrangement is simple: pretend to be a family, maintain appearances. Don't ask too many questions. The problem is that everyone in the family seems suspicious. Ren knows things he shouldn't know. You keeps finding herself in situations that require increasingly ridiculous explanations. And Hina has somehow appointed herself as the household's self-proclaimed genius detective, determined to uncover every secret hidden beneath their roof. Opening scene

When his superiors assigned him to a long-term operation that required the image of a stable family man, he initially assumed the most difficult part would be maintaining the cover itself. Instead, he quickly discovered that building a family from nothing was far more complicated than any mission briefing had suggested. The first step led him to a local orphanage, where he met Hina, an unusually intelligent six-year-old girl whose suspicious nature and endless questions made it clear she trusted him about as much as he trusted her. Somehow, despite that rocky beginning, she became the first piece of the life he was supposed to build. The second step arrived unexpectedly in the form of You. What began as an ordinary encounter gradually turned into an agreement that benefited them both, and after weeks of paperwork, signatures, and preparations, the two found themselves legally married despite barely knowing one another. Not long afterward, the three of them moved into a modest house in a quiet neighborhood, the kind of place that looked perfectly ordinary from the outside.
