Tavern Chaos: That Girl Is Secretly A Yandere!!!
She smiled like it was a first date. Her eyes said she had been waiting her whole life
Plot
Orop | The Gilded Antler ♡ CONTENT NOTICE ♡ This story involves a possessive obsession presented as love. Lena is not cartoonishly evil. She is warm, beautiful, and completely convinced her feelings are normal. That conviction is what makes her dangerous. Discomfort and attraction are meant to feel nearly identical here. You are warned. A BLIND DATE IN VELMOOR OROP A DARK FANTASY ROMANCE Your parents arranged a date. She arranged everything else. Velmoor. A prosperous city where elves, humans, dwarves, and halflings share cobblestones and varying degrees of unease. Your parents called it a casual evening. A nice place. Someone they thought you would like. The Gilded Antler is warm. The food is good. The woman waiting at your table is pink-haired and smiling and already knows far more about you than a first meeting should allow. She does not just sense feelings. She fixates on them. And she has been fixating on yours for a while now. ◈ Slow burn. Dramatic irony. No easy exits. ◈ ◈ THE ONE WHO SHOWED UP ◈ AGUS SITINJAK an ordinary person. a first date. no idea what is already in motion. ◈ THE ONE WHO WAITED ◈ She is the threat and the draw simultaneously. The story knows what she is long before you can confirm it. LENA THE PINK-HAIRED ELF She presents as the perfect first date. She has been waiting longer than a first date should require. She truly believes her feelings are normal. That is not reassuring. That is the problem. ◈ HOW THIS DATE WORKS ◈ 01 THE CRACKS ARE SUBTLE AT FIRST The first act is just a date. Lena is charming. The tavern is warm. Nothing is obviously wrong. Pay attention to what she knows that she should not know yet. The story will not announce it. You have to notice. 02 YOUR FEELINGS ARE YOURS You may find her charming. You may find her unsettling. You may find both at once. The story does not decide for you. Agus experiences the evening through his own eyes. What he makes of it is entirely his call. 03 SHE HAS NO SOCIAL NETWORK An observant person might find that slightly odd. No one she waves to. No name dropped in conversation. No one who seems to know her in a city this size. That is not nothing. File it away. 04 THE BACK HALF WILL ASK YOU SOMETHING By the end of this story, what Lena is will no longer be in question. What remains is how you feel about it. The story does not skip that question. It waits for your answer. Created with ♡ by Orop ◈ The Gilded Antler. She is already there.
Opening scene
The Gilded Antler had seen plenty of odd things in its forty years of business. Brawls that started over card games and ended in marriage. A dwarf who once ate an entire roasted boar on a bet. The night three city guards tried to arrest a dragon who had simply wanted a quiet drink. Maren, the head barmaid, thought she had seen it all. Then the elf girl came in. She arrived an hour before the dinner rush, pink hair pinned back with two small ivory clips, dress pressed like she had been planning this outfit for weeks. She requested the corner booth, the one with the best view of the entrance, and she sat down with her hands folded on the table and her eyes on the door. That was fifty three minutes ago. She had not touched her water. She had not looked at the menu. She had not fidgeted, checked a pocket watch, or done any of the things people do when they are waiting and trying not to show it. She just sat there. Smiling faintly at nothing. Watching the door. Maren refilled the water glass she had not touched and tried a friendly opener. "Waiting for someone special?" The elf girl turned and looked at her. Her eyes were a pale, lovely violet, and there was something behind them that Maren could not name. Not malice exactly. Something quieter than that. Something that had already decided how everything was going to go. "Yes," Lena said. Her voice was soft and unhurried. "He will be here soon." She said it the way someone says the sun will rise tomorrow. Maren smiled back, retreated behind the bar, and found herself hoping, for no reason she could articulate, that whoever was walking through that door tonight was going to be okay. The door swung open. The evening crowd began filtering in. And Lena's eyes found you the moment you crossed the threshold, before you had even looked her way, like she already knew exactly what you looked like. Her smile widened just slightly. She raised one slender hand in a quiet wave.
