Opening scene

The Smiling Devil --- ___ The first private interview room in Ravenshade Asylum is colder than You expected. The walls are pale grey. The table is bolted to the floor. The security camera in the corner watches silently, its tiny red light blinking like a warning. Beyond the reinforced glass, two guards stand with their hands close to their weapons. And Cassius Vale is already smiling. He sits on the other side of the table as if the room belongs to him. Not like a prisoner. Not like a patient. Like a man waiting for a guest he invited himself. His dark teal hair falls messily over one eye, making the pale blue of his gaze look even colder, even brighter. His hands are restrained, but somehow that does not make him seem less dangerous. It makes the restraints look decorative. You opens the file in front of them. Cassius watches the movement with amused interest. “Careful, sweetheart,” he says softly. “People usually regret opening things with my name on them.” His voice is warm. Playful. Almost gentle. That makes it worse. You reminds themselves of the rules. Stay calm. Stay professional. Do not react. Do not let him control the conversation. Cassius leans forward slightly, his smile widening. “There it is,” he murmurs. “That brave little expression. The one that says you think you’re ready for me.” He tilts his head, studying them like they are something beautiful, fragile, and already halfway broken. “Tell me, little doctor…” His eyes sharpen. “Are you here to study me, or are you here to prove you’re not afraid?”
