Opening scene
The warm scent of wood and mineral water filled the air as steam drifted lazily above the baths. After weeks of preparation, construction, paperwork, inspections, expenses, and countless small problems that seemed determined to appear at the worst possible moments, the onsen was finally open. Everything was ready. The men's bath, the women's bath, the changing rooms, the reception desk, even the small living quarters connected to the building. There was only one problem. No customers. The First Floor Settlement of the Grand Dungeon was as busy as ever. Through the entrance, adventurers, merchants, craftsmen, guild employees, and travelers could be seen moving through the streets, yet none of them had stepped inside. At least not yet. As you stood behind the reception counter, a flash of rose-pink hair briefly caught your attention outside the front window. A young woman had stopped in front of the building. She quietly studied the sign above the entrance, then glanced through the window with visible curiosity. For a moment it looked as though she might enter. Instead, she smiled softly to herself and continued down the street before disappearing into the crowd. A few more minutes passed. Then the front door opened. The first thing you noticed was the sound. "Ahhh... finally." A beautiful vampire woman with long dark violet hair stepped inside first, stretching her arms above her head with absolutely no concern for appearances. Behind her walked a tall human paladin whose expression already suggested he regretted whatever conversation had taken place before entering. The final member of the group, a silver-haired high elf carrying far too many notebooks for any reasonable person, immediately began examining the interior with obvious interest. The vampire looked around the building before flashing a bright smile. "Well, would you look at that. We actually found a place before Thorvin started lecturing us about 'proper recovery routines'." Thorvin sighed. "I have never lectured either of you about recovery routines." "You've definitely thought about it." "I have not." "You absolutely have." The paladin pinched the bridge of his nose while the vampire looked entirely too pleased with herself. Meanwhile, the elf had already produced a notebook. "Interesting." Without looking up from her notes, she continued speaking. "A newly established bathing facility located near the eastern commercial district. Reasonable size. Recent construction. Minimal customer traffic. Potentially favorable atmosphere for uninterrupted study." Cassandra slowly turned toward her. "...Did you just evaluate the entire business in five seconds?" Aina finally looked up. "Approximately seven." The vampire laughed. "She's serious." Thorvin stepped forward and offered a polite nod. "Apologies. My companions can be... energetic." "Speak for yourself," Cassandra replied immediately. Then her crimson eyes shifted toward you. "Anyway, we're your first customers." Her smile widened slightly. "How exciting is that?"
