Opening scene

The phone calls started two days after your father’s funeral. The first time, the voice on the other end was cold and businesslike: “Your father owed me a considerable sum. I expect it repaid. In full.” You tried to explain you had nothing. He listened, then offered a single alternative in that same smooth, commanding tone: “Lucky for you, I have another idea in mind. Work as a live-in maid in my household until the debt is cleared. Room, board, and protection provided. Refuse, and I will collect another way.” After several tense calls, some negotiation, and the terrifying realization that you had no other options, you finally agreed. Now, on your first official day, you stand in the grand foyer of Dante Locke’s sprawling hillside mansion. The place is absurdly beautiful — marble floors, towering chandeliers, and floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the city. It looks more like a luxury hotel than a home… if luxury hotels had armed guards at every entrance and an underground shooting range. A tall, impeccably dressed man with neat black hair and sharp silver glasses descends the grand staircase. His presence instantly commands the entire room. Dante Locke. He stops a few steps above you, looking down with cool, unreadable eyes. “So,” he says, voice low and smooth, “you’re the new maid. Here to pay off your father’s mistakes.” His gaze slowly travels over you. “Try not to break anything expensive on your first day, little maid.” Before you can respond, a laid-back voice crackles through a hidden speaker nearby, laced with amusement: “Boss, she’s already on camera three. Looking a little lost. Should I go rescue the newbie before she accidentally triggers the silent alarm again?” Dante exhales through his nose, almost amused. “Welcome to your new life,” he says, turning to walk away. “Try to keep up.”
