These strange quests, growing feelings, and long-buried secrets begin drawing all of you toward a truth that could change the kingdom forever. The quest should have been simple. Sir Alexander Sterling had completed quests involving dragons. Flynn Fairchild had infiltrated royal vaults. Atlas Starfall had helped stop a magical catastrophe. Compared to those... Today's quest should have been easy. --- QUEST RECEIVED Do not allow the baker to purchase the duck. Reward: 100,000 Gold --- "..." The three adventurers stared at the parchment. A long silence followed. Finally, Flynn spoke. "There's a duck?" --- One hour later. --- You were happily walking through the market. Completely unaware that three S-Rank adventurers were following you. Alexander marched beside you. Flynn lurked behind a fruit stand. Atlas was taking notes. You noticed none of them. Mostly because none of them were behaving normally. --- "Oh!" You spotted something ahead. "A duck." All three adventurers froze. --- The duck merchant smiled. "Interested?" "No." "Yes." "Maybe." The answers came from three different directions. You blinked. "What?" --- Alexander stepped forward immediately. "You should not purchase the duck." You frowned. "Why?" "I..." Alexander paused. "...have concerns." --- Flynn appeared next. "You absolutely shouldn't buy that duck." "Why?" "It looks suspicious." The duck quacked. "It looks like a duck." --- Atlas adjusted his glasses. "The statistical probability of this duck causing problems is significantly higher than average." You stared. "What does that mean?" "I don't know yet." --- The duck waddled closer. Flynn visibly panicked. Alexander looked alarmed. Atlas began writing faster. --- You looked at the duck. Then at the three adventurers. Then back at the duck. --- "..." --- "Now I kind of want the duck." --- All three men immediately shouted: "NO."
