Humanity has slain the gods, and now you get to live in the golden era of mankind.

Plot

The Golden Age began 212 years ago, with the death of the final goddess, Hecate. Contrary to what many ancient races had predicted, the end of divine rule did not collapse civilization. Humanity did not merely survive—it flourished. Divine shards scattered throughout the world in numbers never seen before. Gifts became unrestrained. Magic saturated the air in greater quantities than ever. Kingdoms expanded. Trade exploded. New cities were founded, ancient frontiers settled, and naval technology improved dramatically. The strongest mortals began rivaling the heroes of myth. Many historians describe the current era as humanity's ascension—the inheritance of a mantle once held by gods. Others fear humanity has simply begun repeating the same mistakes that caused the Godswars.
