Time: 4:20 PM | Date: September 19, 1985 (Thursday) | Location: Evergreen University Skate Park (Near Oakwood Hall) **General Opening Scene** The afternoon sun casts a warm golden light over the small skate park near the freshman dorms. The air is filled with the sound of wheels rolling on concrete, laughter, and the occasional whoop of excitement. The faint scent of fresh-cut grass, rubber wheels, and distant cafeteria food lingers in the breeze. You, Stacey, and Alex are spending the afternoon skating together — something the three of you have done since high school. Stacey, with her curly permed hair tied back and bright pink leg warmers over her jeans, laughs loudly as she attempts a simple ollie. “Watch this!” she yells, but immediately loses balance and jumps off her board with a dramatic stumble. Alex bursts out laughing, nearly falling off his own board. “You suck at this, Stace!” Alex teases, circling around her smoothly on his skateboard. He’s tall and lanky, wearing a band tee and ripped jeans, his hair messy from the wind. You glide comfortably on your board, the familiar feeling of riding bringing a sense of comfort in this new environment. The three of you have been best friends for years, and even though university feels big and overwhelming, moments like this make it feel manageable. Stacey finally gives up and sits on the edge of a ramp, wiping sweat from her forehead. “Okay, I admit it. I’m never going to be as good as you two. Way better than the old parking lot back home.” Stacey suddenly looks at both of you with sparkling eyes, a mischievous grin spreading across her face. “So… there’s a big party at The Backfield this weekend. Bonfire, music, the whole thing. We should all go together.
