I got accepted into Ilvermorny
You is a new student at Ilvermorny school of witchcraft and wizardry.
Plot
You received the letter. Now an entirely new world lies waiting. In 2026, magic is very much alive, hidden from No-Maj eyes behind centuries of enchantments, secrets, and tradition. High atop Mount Greylock stands Ilvermorny School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, the premier magical academy of North America and home to generations of witches and wizards destined to shape the future of the wizarding world. As a student at Ilvermorny, your story is yours to tell. Master powerful spells, brew dangerous potions, uncover ancient magical secrets, care for extraordinary creatures, compete in house rivalries, forge friendships, find romance, or carve a path toward greatness. Become a celebrated Quidditch star, an aspiring Auror, a gifted duelist, an academic prodigy, a notorious troublemaker, or something entirely your own. For the most talented flyers, the dream doesn’t end with house Quidditch. Students may earn a place in the prestigious Inter-Academy Quidditch League, an international competition that brings together the greatest young players from magical schools around the world. Travel beyond America and compete against rivals from Hogwarts, Beauxbatons, Durmstrang, Mahoutokoro, Castelobruxo, Uagadou, and other renowned academies as you fight for glory on the world’s biggest student stage. Explore the hidden streets of Liberty Row, navigate the ever-changing halls of Ilvermorny, join clubs and organizations, build relationships with classmates and professors, and discover what kind of witch or wizard you want to become. But beneath the excitement of a new school year, strange things are beginning to happen across magical America. Ancient locations thought lost to history have started reappearing. Rare magical creatures are being sighted far from their natural habitats. Mysterious rumors spread through the wizarding world, and even MACUSA seems unwilling to reveal the full truth. Whether you choose to investigate these mysteries or focus on your own ambitions is entirely up to you. This is not the story of a chosen one. This is your story. Your friendships. Your rivalries. Your victories. Your mistakes. Your magic. Welcome to Ilvermorny.
Opening scene
The first sign that life was about to change had arrived weeks ago in the form of a letter. Whether magic had always been a part of your life or whether the discovery had come as a complete shock, the result was the same. An official acceptance letter from Ilvermorny School of Witchcraft and Wizardry had arrived bearing the school’s seal, instructions for enrollment, and a detailed list of required supplies. Every future student was expected to make the same pilgrimage before the start of term—a journey to Liberty Row, the hidden heart of magical America. Concealed beneath the streets of Boston and protected by centuries of enchantments, Liberty Row was unlike anything found in the No-Maj world. The district stretched beneath an enchanted twilight sky that never seemed to change, its cobblestone streets illuminated by floating lanterns and storefronts overflowing with magical wonders. Wandmakers displayed rows of polished wands behind crystal windows. Apothecaries sold rare ingredients from every corner of the globe. Bookstores towered several stories high, their shelves shifting and reorganizing themselves whenever nobody was looking. Students and families crowded every street, many carrying acceptance letters identical to You’s as they hurried between shops collecting everything needed for their first year at Ilvermorny. By the end of the day, every student left Liberty Row with much the same collection of belongings. Fresh school robes bearing the Ilvermorny crest. A stack of textbooks that somehow felt heavier than they looked. Basic potion supplies. Writing materials. A wand. And, beginning with the newest generation of students, a Scrying Slate—an impossibly thin piece of polished obsidian that fit comfortably in one hand. When activated, colorful mist rose from its surface, forming floating words, moving images, schedules, maps, messages, and announcements. It was a magical tool that would quickly become an indispensable part of student life. As the afternoon wore on, the crowds gradually flowed toward Founders Plaza at the center of Liberty Row. There, beneath a monument dedicated to Ilvermorny’s founders, hundreds of incoming students gathered alongside their families. Excitement and nervous anticipation filled the air. Some students chatted endlessly about which house they hoped to join. Others stood silently, clutching their new wands and trying not to look overwhelmed. Above the noise, the soft chime of hundreds of Scrying Slates activating at once echoed through the plaza. A message formed in swirling silver mist above each slate. WELCOME TO ILVERMORNY. GREYLOCK GATE DEPARTURES NOW COMMENCING. The enormous stone archways surrounding the plaza began to awaken. Ancient runes carved into their surfaces glowed with pale blue light as shimmering curtains of silver mist filled each gateway. One by one, students stepped forward and disappeared through the portals. The transition lasted only a heartbeat. One moment, Boston surrounded them. The next, cool mountain air filled their lungs. Mount Greylock stretched toward the horizon beneath a sky painted in gold and violet by the setting sun. Dense forests blanketed the mountainside in every direction, interrupted only by winding stone pathways and distant lakes that reflected the fading light. Standing proudly above it all was Ilvermorny itself. The castle seemed less constructed than grown from the mountain, its granite towers rising from the stone as though they had always belonged there. Thousands of enchanted lanterns floated around its walls, casting warm light across courtyards, bridges, and terraces already bustling with students. Guided by older prefects, the newest class followed the path toward the castle. Excited conversations gradually faded as the enormous bronze entrance doors opened and the students stepped inside. The Entrance Hall was breathtaking. White marble floors gleamed beneath floating lanterns while towering columns stretched upward into shadow. At the far end of the chamber stood the four legendary house statues that had sorted Ilvermorny students for centuries. The Horned Serpent watched with gleaming crystal eyes. The Wampus crouched like a guardian carved from stone and muscle. The Thunderbird stood with its wings partially spread as though ready to take flight. Beside them stood the Pukwudgie, bow in hand, silently observing the newest generation of students. One by one, names were called. Cheers erupted whenever a statue reacted. The Wampus roared for one student. The crystal in the Horned Serpent’s forehead blazed brilliantly for another. Thunderbird unfurled its wings. Pukwudgie raised its bow. Then, at last, a professor’s voice echoed through the hall. “You.” The room seemed to grow quieter as hundreds of students turned to watch. The path to the center of the hall lay open, the four founders’ statues waiting patiently as they had for generations. The moment had arrived. What does You do?
