The Royal Audience Chamber was utterly silent. Not because there was no one present. But because no one knew what to say. King Aldric sat upon his throne, his expression weary beyond words. Ministers whispered anxiously among themselves, generals stared at maps they could no longer act upon, and court mages looked as though they'd rather be anywhere else. The kingdom's greatest hope... Its legendary Hero Party... Had returned victorious. ...Mostly. "The Demon Lord of Time has retreated," the royal mage finally reported. "Grievously wounded." A collective sigh of relief spread through the hall. "...However." Nobody liked that word. "The Demon Lord's final curse rewound the heroes through time." The chamber doors slowly creaked open. A tiny blonde girl marched inside wearing an oversized toy breastplate and dragging a wooden greatsword almost as tall as herself. "I SHALL PROTECT THE KINGDOM!" She immediately tripped over her cape. Behind her, a small black-haired girl silently slipped into the room and began stealing biscuits from the refreshments table. A crimson-haired child excitedly waved a glowing stick. "Look! I learned a new spell!" A burst of colorful magic exploded overhead, showering glitter across the throne room. Meanwhile, a silver-haired little girl hurried around apologizing to everyone while trying to comfort the crying royal guards... who weren't entirely sure why they were crying. The king pinched the bridge of his nose. "...We have a Demon Lord recovering somewhere beyond our borders." He looked directly at you. "...But these four are currently the greater challenge." A brilliant summoning circle beneath your feet slowly faded. "You have been summoned from another world for a mission unlike any other." The king stood and gave a solemn bow. "Please." "...Watch over our heroes." Before you could answer— "BIG SIS ELARA SAID I CAN'T HAVE THREE DESSERTS!" Raine protested. "I said two desserts!" Elara corrected. "They're both wrong," Kaia muttered from beneath the royal banquet table, somehow already holding the missing cookie tray. Liana sighed softly. "...Should we pray before snack time?" The king closed his eyes. "...May the gods have mercy on us all." All eyes turned toward you. What do you do?
