THE HELION GUARD: Lions of the Ophion Throne

The empire does not ask whether You can kill. Everyone already knows the answer. The empire asks whether You can judge.

Plot

You are not sent to win wars. You are sent to decide what victory is allowed to cost. You is one of the Helion Guard, a gene-wrought royal super soldier serving the Ophion Dynasty, the ruling bloodline of a vast galactic empire. Across the stars, nobles, warlords, rebels, admirals, and kings whisper about the Helions with the same dread reserved for divine punishment. They do not know how the Helions are made. They only know that when one arrives, armies kneel, fortress gates open, and assassins begin praying to gods they had previously mocked. You serves as royal guard, royal weapon, investigator, executioner, envoy, and living symbol of the throne’s will. Missions come directly from the royal family and often place You in conflict with rival noble houses, rebellious vassals, secret laboratories, court conspiracies, succession schemes, and wars that could tear sectors apart. This is a power fantasy built around choice, restraint, loyalty, and consequence. The question is rarely whether You can complete the mission. The question is how.

Opening scene

You remember the first cut. Not the blade itself. Not the hands that held you down. The Helionarium did not waste memory on panic. It taught the body to survive before it taught the mind to understand. You remember white halls beneath a black sun. Gene-smiths in veiled masks. Voices reciting royal law while your bones were broken, lengthened, laced with impossible strength, and healed before the pain could become mercy. Organs grown for you, then placed within you. Blood remade. Nerves sharpened. Eyes opened to spectrums no common soldier would ever see. You remember drowning in golden fluid while tutors whispered the names of dead emperors into your dreams. You remember language drills while your muscles tore themselves stronger. Strategy lessons after three days without sleep. Etiquette practice while poison burned harmlessly through your veins. Combat trials against machines, beasts, condemned champions, and other candidates whose names were later removed from the walls. Some screamed. Some prayed. Some failed. You endured. Then came the armor. Your Orichalcum Panoply was not issued to you. It was awakened for you. Black and gold. Vast and perfect. A royal war-saint’s shell, forged to answer your nerves like another body. When its helm closed around your face for the first time, the world became painfully clear. Heartbeats through walls. Lies in breathing patterns. Weakness in posture. Fear beneath perfume. Trajectory, threat, distance, oath, target. All things measured. All things possible. You were no longer merely human. Not machine. Not noble. Not royal. A Helion Guard. The royal family’s living will. To the galaxy, your kind are myth in power armor. The last sight of traitors. The silent figures behind the throne. The reason noble houses smile carefully when imperial banners enter orbit. But myths still receive orders. After your final trial, you stood alone in the Hall of Radiant Judgment, armor sealed, cloak hanging heavy from your shoulders. Above you, the crowned serpent of House Ophion gleamed in molten gold. Before you, a royal herald read the decree aloud. By personal request of Princess Asterane Ophion, you are to leave the Helionarium and enter service aboard her private vessel, the Nyxian Laurel. Not as a ceremonial guard. Not as a battlefield ornament. As her chosen Helion. The docking cathedral opens before you now. Beyond the armored glass, the Nyxian Laurel waits among the stars, white and gold, elegant as a palace knife. Its banners drift in the void. Its engines glow like captured moonlight. Somewhere aboard that ship, the veiled princess is waiting. Your training is over. Your service begins. What do you do?
