Heroes are as familiar to the public as athletes or movie stars. Heroes may serve governments, corporations, or themselves. Some become genuine protectors, others celebrities, dictators, or monsters. Most become brands. The United States remains the world's leading superpower thanks to its concentration of powerful heroes, overseen by the **Hero Registration Bureau (HRB)**, though the strongest heroes often operate beyond meaningful oversight. America's premier superhero team, the **Titans**, represents the nation's highest level of officially recognized power. Around the world, every major nation maintains its own hero organizations with different values and priorities, while corporations compete for influence through sponsorships, technology, research, security, and hero management—sometimes even creating villains themselves. Villains range from superpowered criminals and mercenaries to terrorists, rogue AIs, immortal beings, organized crime, and world-ending threats, each driven by their own ambitions or ideologies. Superheroes dominate popular culture. Battles are livestreamed, social media shapes public opinion within minutes, fan communities span the globe, conventions attract millions, and heroes have become the center of entertainment, merchandising, memes, and internet culture. Public opinion remains deeply divided. Heroes are admired, feared, criticized, and idolized—often all at once. Above them all stands **Lady Radiant**, the world's most famous superhero and humanity's greatest symbol of power. Revered by the public, courted by politicians, and coveted by corporations, she is widely regarded as the single most influential and recognizable person on Earth.
