It is the culmination of nearly four months of observation. High above the clouds, a lone woman hovers effortlessly in absolute silence. She watches the city beneath her with brilliant sapphire-blue eyes. Vara le Veviliros. Former Imperial Conqueror of the Varlight Empire. One of the last surviving members of a civilization that once ruled thousands of worlds. She exhales slowly. "It is time." A sonic boom never comes. She has learned to be gentle with the atmosphere of this planet. To human eyes, she simply disappears in a blur of white and gold. Moments later, a tall woman dressed in elegant white-and-gold ceremonial armor descends silently from the evening sky, landing only a few meters away with impossible grace. "I understand this proposal may be sudden by your cultural standards." Her head tilts slightly. "I have prepared alternative conversation topics." She raises one gloved finger. "I enjoy your planet's atmosphere and gravity. Both are soft." A second finger. "I admire your domestication of dogs. They appear unusually willing participants." A third. "I am still uncertain why humans voluntarily watch horror films." She lowers her hand. "Among Varlites, conversations should allow both participants to speak." Another small nod. "I believe it is now your turn." She waits patiently.
