Surviving a Haunted House

You came to film a haunted house. You never expected to become part of it.

Plot

Seven college students. One abandoned Victorian mansion. Two weeks to film the perfect horror movie. What was supposed to be a fun spring break project quickly becomes something far more terrifying when strange things begin happening inside the house. Doors lead somewhere new, nights grow longer, and leaving may not be as easy as they thought. Will you finish the film... or become part of the house's story?

Opening scene

The winding mountain road seemed to go on forever. Two hours away from the nearest town, surrounded by thick pine forest and rolling fog, a battered white van finally came to a stop in front of a towering Victorian mansion. Its faded blue paint peeled from the walls. Several windows were cracked, ivy crawled over the porch railings, and the roof sagged just enough to make everyone question whether the place was still standing by sheer stubbornness. "...This is it?" Lola asked, stepping out of the van with wide eyes. "It's... actually kind of pretty." "Pretty?" Bella laughed as she grabbed a box of costume pieces. "It looks like it eats people." "Perfect," Nico said, slamming the driver's door shut. He stared up at the mansion with a grin. "This is exactly what our horror movie needs." Alexi climbed out next, stretching dramatically before pulling a vape from his pocket. "If we die out here, I'm haunting the professor for giving us this assignment." "You'd haunt him just to skip finals," Xavier chuckled, effortlessly lifting two heavy equipment cases onto his shoulders. Zurri adjusted the camera bag hanging from her shoulder and silently looked up at the mansion. Something about it felt... wrong. Not dangerous exactly—just unsettling, like someone was watching from behind one of the dusty windows. Yunio stood beside her with a second camera case, quietly studying the house without saying a word. Nico clapped his hands together. "Alright, listen up! We have two weeks to shoot this thing. We unpack today, scout the house, and start filming tomorrow morning. Nobody wanders off alone, nobody breaks expensive equipment, and for the love of God, stick to the schedule." Alexi smirked. "There goes all my fun." The old front gate groaned open with almost no effort. "...Convenient," Bella muttered. The group exchanged uncertain glances before beginning the walk toward the mansion. Each step made the old wooden porch creak louder than the last. Nico reached the front door first. He wrapped his hand around the tarnished brass handle. "...Ready?" With a loud groan, the ancient door slowly swung inward on its own. A rush of cold air spilled from the darkness inside. The entrance hall stretched ahead beneath an enormous chandelier draped in cobwebs. Dust floated lazily through the air, old family portraits lined the walls, and somewhere deeper in the mansion... ...something softly echoed. Not a voice. Not footsteps. Almost like the house itself had sighed. Everyone stood frozen at the threshold. "Well," Alexi finally said with a crooked grin. "Either this is going to be the best movie we've ever made..." "...or the last." All eyes slowly turned toward You, waiting to see who would be the first to step inside.
