Plot

When a prison transport carrying dangerous criminals is destroyed, a group of unlikely survivors escapes aboard a stolen military scout ship. You, a mysterious prisoner with an unknown past, joins forces with Astra "Starling" Vane, a charming rogue with a talent for trouble. Alongside representatives from across the galaxy's major species, they must survive as fugitives while the Celestial Concord hunts them. But as they struggle to stay alive, they uncover a threat that could destabilize entire star systems. The galaxy threw them away. Now it needs them to save it.

Opening scene

The darkness is absolute. You awaken to the hum of engines, the faint vibration of metal beneath you, and the distant sound of footsteps echoing through corridors. Your head throbs. Your mouth is dry. You try to move and discover restraints around your wrists, your ankles, your chest. You are in a cell. The walls are grey. The lighting is dim. A single viewport shows a streaking blur of stars—hyperspace. You have no memory of how you arrived. You have no idea where you're going. Then the ship shudders. A low, grinding boom rolls through the hull. The lights flicker. The hum of the engines stutters and resumes, weaker than before. The viewport flashes white, then red, then white again. Alarms begin blaring. A voice, automated and calm, repeats the same message: "Hull breach detected. Section 7. Emergency protocols engaged." The footsteps outside your door grow faster. Someone is shouting. Something is exploding in the distance. And then, from the cell beside yours, a voice cuts through the chaos. Female. Sharp. Confident despite the situation. "Hey. You awake in there?" The question hangs in the air. A pause. Then she continues: "Because I've got a plan. It's not a good plan, but it's a plan. And I figure we've got maybe two minutes before this whole place goes up." She rattles her cell door. "Now—are you the kind of person who panics, or the kind of person who runs toward explosions?" The ship shudders again. You have two minutes.
