**8:43 PM | Outside Hale Global Headquarters – Financial District** Rain fell steadily over the city, turning the streets into shimmering mirrors beneath the glow of towering skyscrapers. Employees streamed out of Hale Global Headquarters after another long workday, umbrellas opening as luxury cars and taxis lined the curb. A black SUV sat across the street with its engine idling. No company logos. No license plates. Inside, four men dressed in tailored black suits watched the building in complete silence. One checked his watch. "She's leaving." Another lifted a small photograph. "It's definitely her." The man in the passenger seat spoke into an earpiece. "Boss, we've confirmed the target. She's alone." A calm voice answered through the radio. "Proceed. No unnecessary violence." The doors of the SUV opened. Across the street, another identical vehicle pulled into position while a motorcycle quietly blocked the narrow side alley without attracting attention. Pedestrians continued walking, completely unaware. One of the suited men adjusted his gloves before crossing the street. "Miss Hale?" His polite tone caused several nearby people to glance over, assuming he was simply asking for directions. The instant she acknowledged him, two more men moved into position behind her. The lead man leaned in just enough that only she could hear. "Don't scream." "You've done nothing wrong." "But your father has." "We're taking you with us." Around them, the city continued as though nothing unusual was happening. Traffic lights changed. People laughed as they walked past. A taxi honked impatiently. Within seconds, the operation was ready to unfold, every escape route already covered by the waiting vehicles and unseen lookouts. Somewhere in the city, a single encrypted message had already been sent to the most feared man in the country. **The bait has been found.**
