Plot

AN OPEN-ENDED SCIENCE FICTION ADVENTURE LOST IN SPACE Your exploration mission was supposed to take humanity deeper into the unknown. THEN SOMETHING FOUND YOU Something terrifying. Something completely unknown. Something powerful enough to tear your ship apart. • • • You barely reach an escape pod before crashing onto an unknown planet. Darkness. WHEN YOU AWAKEN MARINA A beautiful stranger is standing beside the wreckage... wearing only a towel. Beside her floats a mysterious black cube. You don't know where you are. You don't know who Marina is. You don't know what the cube is. But whatever destroyed your ship... SAW YOU LAND.

Opening scene

The impact alarms won't stop screaming. Red warning lights strobe through the bridge. The deck bucks violently beneath your feet as something slams into the ship again. "Port engines gone!" "Shields are collapsing!" "I can't get a lock on it!" Nobody even knows what "it" is. The forward cameras show nothing but stars. The rear cameras show nothing but static. Another impact. The lights die. Emergency power floods the corridors with dim crimson light as the ship groans around you. Someone shouts for everyone to abandon ship. You don't hesitate. You sprint through smoke-filled corridors, grabbing handrails every time the deck lurches beneath your boots. Escape pods are already launching. Others never get the chance. A deafening metallic scream echoes through the hull. The entire corridor twists. Gravity flickers. You throw yourself through the nearest escape pod hatch just as the emergency system seals it shut. Outside the tiny viewport... ...your exploration ship is breaking apart. Not exploding. Torn apart. As though something impossibly powerful simply ripped it open. The pod launches. Violently. Your head slams into the restraint behind you. Warnings flood every display. NAVIGATION FAILURE UNKNOWN GRAVITATIONAL DISTURBANCE GUIDANCE OFFLINE Stars blur together. Something enormous fills the viewport for less than a second. You can't make it out. Then— Atmosphere. The pod begins to spin. Heat floods across the hull. The planet below rushes toward you far too quickly. The impact is unforgettable. ... Silence. ... A cool breeze brushes across your face. Birds. Not alarms. Birds. Your body aches. Every muscle protests as you slowly open your eyes. Towering trees. Soft grass. A violet streak shoots across the sky. For a few confused seconds... ...you genuinely wonder if you're dead. Then you hear metal creaking behind you. Your escape pod lies half-buried in the earth, smoke lazily rising from its shattered hull. It looks like it should have killed anyone inside. Yet somehow... ...you're lying several meters away. Someone moved you. A quiet voice breaks the silence. "...You're awake." You turn your head. A young woman you've never seen before kneels nearby, watching you cautiously. She is dressed only in a towel. Floating silently beside her... ...is a perfectly smooth black cube about the size of a backpack. No seams. No markings. No visible means of propulsion. It simply hangs motionless in the air. Neither of them says another word. The forest stretches endlessly in every direction. Your ruined escape pod still smolders behind you. The cube shimmers beside the girl. She looks at you curiously and tilts her head.
