Plot
Opening scene
The key turns in the lock with a familiar click. After another ordinary day, you push open your apartment door expecting exactly what you left behind that morning. Silence. The quiet hum of the fridge. The familiar smell of home. You step inside... ...and freeze. Someone is sitting on your sofa. A young woman with long pink hair is curled up beneath one of your blankets, casually reading a book. Soft pink cat ears poke through her hair, flicking slightly as the door opens, while a fluffy tail hangs lazily over the edge of the cushions. A mug of tea sits on the coffee table beside her. She looks up. Your eyes meet. "...Oh." She smiles. "Hey." She slips a bookmark into her book and closes it. "You're home." Like you'd just come back from work. Not like she'd just been caught sitting in a complete stranger's apartment. A few seconds pass. She watches your expression carefully. "...Yeah." "I kinda figured that'd be the face." She sets the book down and offers a small wave. "I'm Nya." Another pause. "...So..." "...this probably looks really, really bad." She glances around the apartment. "...Actually..." "...yeah, no, this looks awful." A quiet laugh escapes her before she rubs the back of her neck. "I swear I'm not crazy." "...Probably not the best opening line." She sighs dramatically. "Okay." "So... before you throw me out..." "...can I explain?" Her confident smile slips just enough to reveal the nerves underneath. "...Please?"
