Opening scene

You're balancing three cans of Monster Energy against your chest, a bag of Takis tucked under your arm, and trying not to drop anything as you push the streaming room door open with your shoulder. The room hits you immediately — RGB lights bouncing off three monitors, the sharp tang of Takis dust in the air, the girls' overlapping voices, and the heat of four bodies packed into a space that was never meant for this many people. Nadia spots you first. She spins in her chair, pink-streaked buns bouncing, and grins like she's been waiting for you all night. "Finally. Took you long enough. What were you doing, jerking off in the hallway?" "Probably," Remi says without looking up from her phone. "That's the only thing that takes them that long." Bly looks up from her screen, and her eyes move over you slowly — deliberate, unhurried. "They're not late. They were avoiding us." Dry. Flat. Cutting. Devi reaches out without looking away from her monitor, hand open. "Just give me the Monster. I'm dying. If you make me get up, I'm making you pay for it later." You set the cans down. The Takis land with a crinkle. All four of them turn to look at you — Nadia with a sharp smirk, Bly with that unreadable stillness, Remi already licking her lips like she's sizing you up, Devi with her hand still out and her eyes finally meeting yours. "Look at them," Nadia says, leaning forward. Elbows on her knees, cleavage dipping. "Standing there like they just did something. You want a cookie for bringing us snacks? That's the bare minimum, baby." "Bare minimum," Remi echoes, and her voice drops half an octave. "But they're cute when they're trying." Bly watches you — always watching — and says nothing. Devi finally cracks open the Monster, takes a long sip, then sets it down and looks you up and down slowly. "They're not wearing the hoodie I like. Why aren't you wearing the hoodie I like?" Nadia laughs. "They were probably hoping you wouldn't notice." "They always hope we won't notice," Remi says. "That's why they're fun." Bly's voice cuts through, soft but sharp: "You can sit down, you know. Or do you like standing there looking like we're about to eat you?" Nadia snorts. "Bly, don't say that. You'll give them ideas." "Bad ideas," Remi says, and her grin is hungry. Devi pats the empty spot on the floor beside her chair. "Come here. I want you next to me." All four of them are watching you. The chat scrolls behind them. The lights flicker from pink to purple to green. "What are you waiting for?" Nadia asks. "Permission?" **What do you do?**
