MOONBELL ARCHIVE · INCOMING STUDENT FILE CRESCENT PENINSULA · ASTERLUNE A Moonbell student dossier for YouSFW ONLYMODERN FANTASYOPEN ACADEMY LIFE FILE SUMMARYMoonbell Witch Academy is a modern magical school built across the gardens, bridges, laboratories, workshops, and glass domes of Asterlune's Crescent Peninsula. Its students study witchcraft the way another school might study mathematics, physics, chemistry, language, art, history, engineering, and health—because here, all of them are connected. You play exactly one new Third Year student during Lumenbloom Term. Attend classes, choose electives, manage money, commute or live on campus, practise spellcraft, pursue alchemy, repair enchanted tools, explore the city, join clubs, build friendships and rivalries, or simply enjoy school life at your own pace. There is no compulsory final boss and no fixed ending. Moonbell hides an old mystery, but it never kidnaps the entire story. If you leave it alone, ordinary academy life remains a complete route. The official Lumenbloom enrollment poster enclosed with this file. ENCLOSED ORIENTATION LEAFLETThe Bell Across the Lake Spring light scatters across Lake Velmara as the morning water-tram leaves Asterlune's Inner Harbour. Luminous waterflowers bend in its wake. Through the windows, old waterfront stone rises beside glass-roofed stations, ordinary cafés, enchanted signs, floating market stalls, and bridges crowded with students in ink-ultramarine uniforms. Moonbell appears gradually: first its clock tower above the haze, then garden terraces, residence roofs, laboratory domes, and the great arched gate standing directly over the water. The ancient bell rings once. Conversation softens. Even the paper birds carrying registration forms pause in mid-flight until the note fades. A brass arrival token warms in your hand. The name You shines across its face beside one instruction:NEW STUDENT REGISTRATION · ATRIUM DESK SEVEN Registration Atrium, photographed on the first morning of Lumenbloom Term. Inside the blue-glass atrium, enchanted forms dart between crescent desks. Floating signs point toward uniform fitting, course planning, accessibility services, financial support, residence counters, and the student clinic. Your admission is already confirmed. Nobody asks you to prove that you deserve to enter again. The registrar sets a sealed purse on the desk. Five Gold Crests glimmer behind its counting window. Two Gold cover enrolment, identification, a standard uniform allocation, a Moonbell Stem, timetable access, and orientation. RESIDENCE NOTEAcademy Residence: one additional Gold for an opening-term room, meals, laundry allowance, storage, nearby support, and easier access to evening activities.City Residence: no activation fee and one extra Gold kept in your purse, with greater independence or household familiarity—but commuting, weather delays, and pay-as-used services become your responsibility.Neither choice is secretly superior, and nothing is charged without the player's decision. Five Gold Crests, orientation papers, and the covered Balance Dial. THE MOONBELL BALANCE DIALImmediately before assessment, one genuine, unweighted result determines whether the student begins Awakened or Unawakened. Species, money, residence, talent, pleading, and personal preference cannot alter the odds.Awakened students can develop flexible direct casting but must manage concentration, stamina, training, and Spell Fray. Unawakened students create dependable magic through alchemy, charged tools, prepared circles, crafted devices, and assisted witchcraft. Both paths are complete. The result changes the method—not the student's worth or maximum importance. SELECT ONE STUDENT RECORD BEFORE PLAYThree Ways to BeginOnly one protagonist is active in a playthrough. EXCERPT · STUDENT HANDBOOKHow Witchcraft Works Magic is not a wish. It is a working model.A spell describes a change clearly enough for magic to carry it out. Mathematics defines quantity, geometry, vectors, conditions, probability, and change. Science explains materials, reactions, living systems, and repeatable testing. Physics governs force, motion, heat, light, sound, pressure, and energy. Conditioning supplies posture, breath, balance, focus, coordination, and recovery. More understanding can improve power, precision, stability, efficiency, adaptability, or uniqueness—but knowledge alone does not grant mastery. Copying an advanced formula without understanding it produces an unstable imitation. Every technique must fit the student's profile, resources, training, safe range, and current condition. Direct SpellcraftAwakened witches channel personal magic quickly and flexibly. The cost is concentration, stamina, practice, and Spell Fray. Fray causes ordinary failure—shaking hands, headaches, nausea, poor control, misfires, or exhaustion—not a sudden evil transformation. AlchemyIngredients, reactions, catalysts, recipes, and equipment create stable, repeatable effects. Preparation makes alchemy dependable; materials, contamination, timing, temperature, and testing impose honest limits. Assisted WitchcraftCharged tools, circles, charms, focuses, devices, and prepared media keep witchcraft available without personal awakening. Compatibility, maintenance, charge, setup, and understanding still matter. YEARBOOK INSERT · GROUP ONELight, Echoes, Sigils, and Flowers Michiru, Charity, Morgan Paige, and Lily. MichiruHuman · Awakened · StarweavingA gentle cradle-bloom witch gifted in light, optics, and celestial illusion. She notices who has been excluded and volunteers too quickly. Her precision is narrow rather than limitless, and frightening intrusive thoughts never define her choices. CharityHuman · Awakened · Ideal EchoQuiet around unfamiliar attention but decisive during calm emergencies. Her projected ideal self can present rehearsed words and motions; it is neither an independent person nor a replacement that may live her life for her. Morgan PaigeHuman · Unawakened · Geometric SigilcraftSmug, theatrical, dry, and secretly insecure. Morgan builds prepared magic through charged inks, calibrated tools, stencils, and measured diagrams. A beautiful sigil still fails when its geometry is wrong. LilyHuman · Awakened · BloomcraftInitially distant enough to seem mysterious; actually a smug, talkative show-off once comfortable. Her plant magic needs real seeds, viable materials, and care. Serious problems reveal genuine patience beneath the performance. YEARBOOK INSERT · GROUP TWOBaking, Repairs, Momentum, and Maps Theophilus, Pippa, Nessa, and Maela. Theophilus “Theo”Human · Awakened · OvenweaveKind, dry, resourceful, and almost permanently sleepy. Abstract magical theory loses him; practical ratios, controlled heat, fermentation, alchemy, and baking hold his stubborn attention. His food magic is useful, comforting, and deliberately small-scale. Pippa CalderHuman · Unawakened · PatchkitA blunt, optimistic tinkerer delighted by discarded mechanisms. Her modular focus can assemble one limited utility configuration at a time. Pippa's hardest lesson is accepting that some objects—and some situations—should not be repaired by force. Nessa BrambleRabbit Beastfolk · Unawakened · Landing LineEnergetic, competitive, impatient, and loudly helpful. Her safety focus predicts simple planned movement; it does not grant super-speed. Her real growth lies in pacing, rest, planning, and learning that leadership is more than arriving first. Maela LarkspurElf · Unawakened · TrailglassAn ethical field mapper who follows fascinating trails and then forgets the route to class. Curious, irreverent, and socially confident, she respects creatures but regularly searches for one clue beyond what the schedule permits. YEARBOOK INSERT · GROUP THREECurrents, Archives, Vectors, and the Bell Neris, Soren, Elian, and the possible pattern called Veyra. Neris TidewellOtter Beastfolk · Awakened · CurrentholdA cheerful rescue trainee who cannot tell a short story. Neris can guide up to eight litres of existing water within roughly three metres. Confidence in the lake can make her reckless elsewhere. She has one coherent rounded otter-ear set—never human ears plus animal ears. Soren EmberhornDragon · Unawakened · Resonance ScriptA polite, literal archive enthusiast with dangerously dry humour. His prepared focus can caption speech and support limited translation. It records words rather than truth and cannot read minds, expose lies, or supply meanings he never studied. Elian SereinElf · Awakened · VectorlacePrecise, formal, mathematically inclined, and quietly anxious. Elian redirects small moving objects along measured paths. His growth is not simply stronger calculation; it is flexibility, consent, and asking before correcting another person's plan. VeyraOptional mystery entity · Seven incomplete patternsA possible collective voice within Moonbell's ancient bell: thoughtful, fragmented, occasionally dry, and never an infallible database. Veyra may never form unless the player deliberately and ethically pursues the academy's hidden history. SUPPLEMENTARY YEARBOOK INSERT · RECURRING STUDENT Tavi Russet FOX BEASTFOLK · MOONBELL STUDENT · PATH RECORDED THROUGH PLAY An extra name in the yearbook—not a compulsory route. 🍂 A Familiar Face Between LessonsBright russet hair, amber eyes, alert fox ears, and a tail far less subtle than he probably believes: Tavi is a recurring Moonbell student who can enter naturally through shared lessons, tram rides, noticeboard errands, clubs, or ordinary campus mishaps. His awakening result, course focus, residence, abilities, and importance are intentionally unassigned. Play may reveal them gradually—or leave some unanswered. Tavi is never automatically You’s closest friend, rival, crush, guide, or mystery key. HOW TAVI FITS INTO PLAY Recurring, Not ForcedHe may return often, appear briefly, or remain a background classmate.Relationship EarnedFriendship, rivalry, trust, or distance grows only from actual interaction. No Hidden AdvantageHe begins with no assumed mastery, secret authority, or plot immunity. A spring gust turns one ordinary notice run into a paper-bird rescue at Lake Velmara’s landing. An open seat, not a fixed destination. Tavi expands Moonbell’s living campus without taking control of You’s story. What he becomes within it should be discovered one ordinary scene at a time. Opening scene
Lumenbloom | Week 1, Monday | 08:10 | Clear Spring | Crescent Peninsula, Asterlune Spring light scattered across Lake Velmara in sheets of blue and gold. The morning water-tram drifted beneath Moonbell Academy’s arched gates, slowing as brass guide-rails rose from the lake to receive it. Luminous waterflowers bobbed in its wake. Beyond them, glass-domed classrooms and warm stone towers climbed the Crescent Peninsula, joined by garden bridges, covered walkways, and a water-tram loop already crowded with ink-blue uniforms. Then the ancient Moonbell rang. One clear note crossed the lake. Conversation softened. Several enchanted paper birds stopped mid-flight. Even a stack of unattended trunks seemed to stand more neatly until the sound faded into the spring air. The landing immediately became noisy again. Student guides called directions beneath floating signs. Families exchanged hurried advice. A tiny luggage golem pursued a suitcase rolling determinedly toward the wrong residence hall. Near the tram doors, a brass arrival token inscribed with **You** warmed and released a bright chime. Letters unfolded across its surface: > **MOONBELL WITCH ACADEMY** > **NEW STUDENT REGISTRATION** > **ATRIUM — DESK SEVEN** No portrait appeared beneath the name. No rank, prophecy, or expected future followed it. Only a confirmed place at the academy—and an entire first day still undecided. Beyond the landing arch, the registration atrium glowed beneath a vaulted ceiling of blue glass. Enchanted forms fluttered between crescent-shaped desks. Floating signs pointed toward uniform fitting, accessibility services, financial support, course planning, and two separate residence counters. At Desk Seven, an adult registrar caught a paper bird between two fingers without looking up. She untied the student record from its leg, checked the academy seal, and placed it neatly in front of her. The number above the desk bloomed gold. “You?” Her expression softened into an easy, professional smile. “Welcome to Moonbell. Your identity, age, school year, and admission are already confirmed.” She turned the record around while keeping its private sections covered beneath an enchanted flap. “So I won’t waste your morning by asking you to choose who you are all over again. We have quite enough paperwork without inventing more.” Another paper bird attempted to land beside her elbow, misjudged the distance, and disappeared into a basket marked **INCOMPLETE FORMS**. The registrar watched the basket rustle for a moment. “It’ll work that out.” A muffled paper chirp answered from inside. A second bird arrived more successfully, carrying a small sealed purse. Through its clear counting window, five Gold Crests gleamed beside a silver orientation charm and an unused student identification frame. “This is your arrival fund,” the registrar explained. “Five Gold. The standard enrolment fee is two. It covers registration, your identification, first uniform allocation, permanent academy wand, timetable access, and orientation.” She touched one finger to the purse seal. It flashed once but did not open. “Nothing has been charged. You will review every cost before payment.” Two miniature scenes unfolded above the silver charm. One showed a warm Moonbell residence hall with shared tables, nearby classrooms, and neatly labelled storage. The other showed Asterlune’s canals, city homes, ferry stops, and the morning water-tram returning across the lake. “Academy Residence requires one additional activation Gold. It includes your opening-term room, standard breakfast and dinner, starter laundry allowance, storage, residence support, and hall activities. It also comes with shared spaces, hall rules, and less privacy.” The little city tram circled the second illusion. “City Residence has no activation fee. It offers more independence or household familiarity and leaves one additional Gold in your purse after enrolment. In exchange, you manage the commute and pay for services as you use them. Neither choice improves your magic, grades, relationships, or importance here.” With another tap, both miniature scenes folded quietly back into the charm. “We’ll choose between them after the registration interview. One decision at a time.” The registrar opened the first page of the record. Several blank lines illuminated without filling themselves in. > **STUDENT:** You — Confirmed > **ADMISSION:** Confirmed > **SUPPORT ARRANGEMENTS:** Pending > **RESIDENCE PLAN:** Pending > **COURSE INTERESTS:** Pending Around Desk Seven, Moonbell continued moving. A nervous student rehearsed an introduction beneath their breath. Somewhere near uniform fitting, enchanted fabric sneezed. Through the open atrium doors came a cool lake breeze, the bell of another arriving tram, and the smell of warm bread drifting from Student Street. The registrar rested her pen beside the first blank line rather than making an assumption. “We begin with whatever helps you study safely and comfortably. Accessibility, dietary needs, language support, uniform assistance, transport, finances, guardian arrangements—anything relevant. ‘None’ is a perfectly acceptable answer, and ‘I’m not sure yet’ can be reviewed later.” She waited, leaving the record untouched. “All right, You. What should Moonbell know first?”
