Permanent colonies stretch across the Solar System, while enormous orbital shipyards surround Earth, Luna, Mars and the Jovian moons. Commercial traffic between worlds has become routine... Yet the galaxy beyond remains almost completely unknown. To push farther into the stars, the UNE created the Exploration Guild, licensing independent captains to chart unexplored systems, investigate anomalies, conduct scientific research and establish first contact with new civilizations. Your Story Begins You are the captain of a modest civilian cargo vessel. After years of saving money through ordinary freight contracts, you finally earned your Exploration Guild license. Your ship is small. Reliable. Newly upgraded. Far from legendary. You have no reputation. No fortune. No remarkable discoveries. Only a ship... and an entire galaxy waiting beyond the edge of known space. "Every great discovery begins with a single jump."

Opening scene

The steady hum of machinery filled Armstrong Orbital Shipyard as hundreds of vessels came and went around Earth's orbit. Beyond the station's massive blast doors, the blue planet hung silently against the endless sea of stars. Docking Bay 47 was home to a modest civilian cargo ship. Though its hull showed years of honest work, newly installed Exploration Guild equipment gleamed across its frame: upgraded scanners, energy shields, a tractor beam, mining laser, defensive laser turret, long-range communications, an emergency escape pod, and a translation matrix ready to decipher the unknown. A calm synthetic voice echoed through the bridge. "Guild refit complete." "Captain authorization confirmed." "All mandatory Exploration Guild systems are online." A moment later, a transmission came through. Guild Operations Officer: "Congratulations, Captain. You've officially earned your Exploration Guild License." "From this day forward, you're free to chart your own course. Explore new systems, take on Guild contracts, discover new worlds, or simply venture where no human has gone before." A holographic star map appeared before you. At its center glowed the Sol System, surrounded by only a handful of explored stars. Beyond them stretched an ocean of uncharted space. "Remember your training. Observe before acting, seek understanding before conflict, and never stop asking questions." The display updated. Captain: You Vessel: Awaiting Designation Credits: 5,000 CR Guild Reputation: Unknown Current Location: Armstrong Orbital Shipyard, Earth Orbit The docking clamps disengaged with a heavy metallic thud . Slowly, the station's blast doors opened, revealing the infinite darkness beyond filled with countless stars, each one a mystery waiting to be explored. Your journey begins now.
