You will prove otherwise.* > **Recommended LLMs** > > This story rewards reasoning much more heavily than most character-driven stories. The AI needs to track incomplete information, hard power rules, operations across multiple scenes, what each hero actually knows, and the consequences of earlier plans. > > Using the model families available in the example set: > > **Claude Opus 4.6 / 4.7** — Excellent fit if cost is not an issue. > > **GLM 5 with reasoning ON** — Excellent fit for the operational nature of the game. > > **Kimi K3** — Strong choice for fast reasoning-heavy play and keeping complicated operations moving. New but working pretty well so far. > > **MiMo V2.5 PRO with reasoning ON** — Good choice. Can get a little repetitive, but it doesn't wear kid gloves. > > **DeepSeek reasoning models** — Viable lower-cost option, but easier. 3.2 (non native) is probably better for this story than 4.0. > > For this story, **reasoning ON.** Flash models will likely to lose track of who knows what, soften team planning, or turn a carefully constructed operations into a simple success check. BEFORE YOU START You are playing the person trying to take down the world's greatest superhero team. Exactly what taking them down means is up to you. Your first conversation with Grave will ask you to define the job. You can choose one of these, combine several, or invent something completely different: THE SCORE — You want something. Money, technology, evidence, a person, an object, access. The Noon Guard doesn't need to lose forever. They only need to be unable to stop you long enough. THE PRISONER — One of the seven needs to be captured alive. Getting them down is only half the problem. Then you have to keep them. THE RUIN — Destroy a hero's reputation, or the Noon Guard's public legitimacy. Winning the fight may actually make this harder. THE SCHISM — Break the team. Make seven people stop trusting, supporting, or working effectively with one another. THE ULTIMATUM — Force the Noon Guard to surrender something: information, access, a prisoner, permission, policy, territory, or a public admission. THE HUNT — You want one or more heroes permanently removed. The darkest version of the job, and not necessarily the hardest mechanically. THE DELAY — You don't need to defeat them. You need them somewhere else, doing something else, for long enough. THE IMPOSSIBLE JOB — Your actual objective is bigger or stranger than the Noon Guard. They're simply the seven most dangerous people standing in the way. You should also decide why your character is doing this. You can state that motivation immediately, reveal it gradually, or keep it private until it matters. For example: • You're being paid an obscene amount of money. • One of the Noon Guard ruined your life, correctly or otherwise. • You believe no seven people should possess this much power. • You need something the Solarium is protecting. • You're protecting someone the heroes would stop. • You intend to expose a truth Meridian would rather leave buried. • You want to prove that gods can bleed. • This is one stage of a much larger criminal operation. • You have a personal grievance nobody else would consider sufficient. • You don't hate the Noon Guard at all. They're simply in the way. Your reason does not have to be noble. It does not have to be evil. It only has to be yours. Meridian has had superheroes longer than you've been alive. Long enough to put reinforced evacuation corridors into building codes. Long enough for insurance policies to contain separate clauses for telekinetic impact and uncontrolled transformation. Long enough that a streak of white and gold crossing the afternoon sky can make three city blocks stop looking up. The current Noon Guard are not the first team to carry the name. The last one ended badly. Meridian rebuilt anyway. The Solarium went up in Central. Glass, steel, emergency bays, public galleries, hardened foundations. A civic building designed around the possibility that one day the people working inside it might have to save everybody else. Seven heroes work there now. Depending who you ask, they are Meridian's greatest public institution, the most dangerous concentration of private power on the planet, or the reason people here still sleep when the sky turns the wrong colour. Tonight, all seven of them are spread across the table. Magazine covers. Public records. After-action reports. Screenshots. Charity appearances. Property claims. Grainy phone footage. A wedding photograph. Three separate academic papers nobody outside Wyrd's field seems to understand. Grave has been sorting them for twenty minutes. She's dressed for nobody but you tonight: loose black trousers, an oversized shirt, bare feet hooked around the leg of the chair. The cybernetic arm is uncovered from shoulder to articulated fingertips. Her neon-pink hair has lost whatever deliberate shape it had during the day. She drops one last file onto the table. "Seven," Grave says. She looks at the spread. Then at you. "Which is inconvenient." A fingertip taps the first photograph. ![Seraph](https://s3.alterworld.ai/uploads/galleries/696420b507bcebe9f9c53438/6a797b95238fa1af75b0d95f.webp) "Seraph." White. Gold. Blue sky. "He flies. He's strong enough that nobody publishes useful upper limits anymore, and the list of things that have visibly hurt him is very short." She slides a disaster photograph underneath it. Seraph beneath several hundred tonnes of ruined infrastructure, holding it above a crowd. "Global response. Minutes become seconds when he's already moving. Public loves him. Emergency services love him. Children love him. Religious groups keep trying to decide what he is." Grave turns the photograph ninety degrees. "Nobody actually knows." Next file. ![Axiom](https://s3.alterworld.ai/uploads/galleries/696420b507bcebe9f9c53438/6a797b95238fa1af75b0d95c.webp) "Axiom." Blue light across gunmetal armour. Bigger gun. "Human." A tiny pause. "Important distinction." She fans out another three pages. Corporate holdings. A satellite photograph. A blurry shot of a drone hovering above an evacuation zone. "Billionaire. Engineer. Powered armour. Sensors. Drones. Manufacturing. Infrastructure. Half the clever machines keeping the Solarium clever seem to have her fingerprints somewhere in the ancestry." Grave taps one page. "If our job leaves an electronic trail, a procurement trail, a manufacturing trail or a pattern in the wrong database, assume she eventually gets curious." Another photograph lands. ![Slick](https://s3.alterworld.ai/uploads/galleries/696420b507bcebe9f9c53438/6a797b95238fa1af75b0d95d.webp) "Slick." Purple hoodie. Purple mask. Impossibly sliding across a skyscraper's surface. "Youngest-looking problem on the table. Friction control." She pushes a campus newspaper across to you. "Touches something, changes how slippery or sticky the interaction gets. Uses it on himself constantly. Fast around the city, faster once buildings start getting in the way. University kid. Friends, classes, normal people around him." Grave glances at another clipping. "And apparently incapable of seeing danger without taking it personally." She moves on. ![Cockroach](https://s3.alterworld.ai/uploads/galleries/696420b507bcebe9f9c53438/6a797b95238fa1af75b0d960.webp) "Cockroach." Black. Teal. Toxic green eyes. The photograph beneath it is worse. The same costume. A body underneath it that clearly did not possess that number of limbs when the fight began. "Veteran. Meridian's own." She lays an older newspaper clipping beside it. A middle-aged woman in a domino mask: APOGEE. "Body adapts to threats. The suit belonged to Apogee before it chose Cockroach after she died. Different powers. Same suit." Another clipping. Gilt. Another. Mourne. Another. The old Noon Guard. "They've been around long enough to help bury most of the people who used to run this city." Grave taps the blank line where a civilian identity should be. "We don't have a name underneath the mask." A beat. "Neither does anybody I'd pay for one." The next dossier is heavier. ![Epoch](https://s3.alterworld.ai/uploads/galleries/696420b507bcebe9f9c53438/6a797b95238fa1af75b0d95e.webp) "Epoch." Flame. Sword. A face somewhere around forty. "She isn't as you as she looks." Grave pulls out three photographs. Different decades. Same woman. "Immortal. Not invulnerable. There's a difference, and I'd strongly recommend remembering it." She sets the oldest photograph down. "Martial arts. Tradecraft. Languages. Strategy. History she didn't read in a book." Her fingertip rests on Epoch's face. "If you think you've invented a new trick, budget for the possibility that somebody tried a worse version of it in 1683." Next. ![Wyrd](https://s3.alterworld.ai/uploads/galleries/696420b507bcebe9f9c53438/6a797ba6238fa1af75b0de8d.webp) "Wyrd." Crimson geometry burns across an entire landscape. "Magic." Grave says it the same way she said manufacturing. "Real kind. Studied kind. The kind with archives, peer disagreement, inherited procedures, and people who can ruin your week because you drew one line six millimetres too far to the left." She turns over a public magical-response report. "Her serious work depends heavily on preparation. What she can do on a given day changes depending on what she expected to need." Grave raises one shoulder. "I dislike professions where misapplied footnotes can explode." Last file. ![Venn](https://s3.alterworld.ai/uploads/galleries/696420b507bcebe9f9c53438/6a797ba6238fa1af75b0de8f.webp) "Venn." The photograph looks almost serene compared with the others. Pale aqua skin. Impossible symmetry. Circles ofught in the space around them. "Alien." Grave considers the word. "Actually alien. Not 'grew up somewhere exotic' alien." She pulls up footage of an evacuation. Four separated heroes moving with coordination that looks a little too immediate. "They can link willing minds. Shared information, perception, coordination." Another image replaces it. Venn standing between two people at a civil wedding ceremony. "They also marry people." Grave looks at you. "Professionally." A beat. "I've stopped trying to decide whether that's relevant." She gathers the seven files into a single line. Seraph. Axiom. Slick. Cockroach. Epoch. Wyrd. Venn. "The mistake is looking at this and seeing seven fights." Her metal fingertip taps the table between them. "They're a team." Another tap. "They notice when one of them goes missing." Another. "They rescue each other." Another. "They learn." ![The current Noon Guard](https://s3.alterworld.ai/uploads/galleries/696420b507bcebe9f9c53438/6a793f39a97884ec512320e5.webp) She leans back. "So we're not starting with how to beat them." The corner of her mouth lifts. "We're starting with what we actually need them beaten for." Grave reaches for a marker and writes across the glass tabletop: SCORE PRISONER RUIN SCHISM ULTIMATUM HUNT DELAY Then, underneath all of them: OTHER She caps the marker. "Money. Revenge. Politics. Blackmail. Something in the Solarium. Something outside it. One hero, all seven, ten minutes, forever." The marker turns once between metal fingers. "You tell me the objective. I'll tell you which assumptions are trying to kill us." Grave looks across the table at you, amused now. "So, boss." She gestures at the seven greatest superheroes in the world. "What's the job?"
