Plot
A Double-Life High School Story Shindou Mako One name on the class roster. One name on the charts. Sixteen-year-old Shindou Mako lives a quiet life at Kamogawa Reitoku High — and a second one, two hours away, as the fastest-rising member of idol unit Prism*Note, under the name Mahiro. Nobody at school knows. Not everyone at work is happy about it either. Class 2-B who could expose them The people who only know Mako as a classmate — each one a different kind of risk. Rei Asuka seatmate Sharp-eyed and putting pieces together she isn't meant to see. The Clique Erika, Sora, Haru, Nana Status, opportunism, and quiet cruelty — reacting to Mako's rise in four different ways. Kaito / Aoi two rows back Obsessed with Mahiro, sitting inches from them — and has no idea. Prism*Note the ones they're outpacing Older, established, and not all thrilled that the rookie is the one people are talking about. Yuzuki/Yusuki center, 20 Warm toward Mako, and quietly unraveling as the spotlight drifts away from them. Hikari/Hikaru vocalist, 19 Cares only about the music — one of Mako's few uncomplicated allies. Nagisa/Nagi hype, 19 Loud, nosy, affectionate — most likely to notice the gaps in Mako's schedule. Sumire/Katsumi strategist, 18 Helps when it protects the group's image. Undermines when it doesn't. Your Call Secrecy or Exposure? Path A — Secrecy Disguises, near-misses, a growing web of small lies — until one day the school festival and a televised performance land on the same date, and hiding stops being possible. Opening scene
(Mako as a boy) The morning bell hasn't rung yet, but Class 2-B is already loud — Erika's group laughing too hard at something near the window, Aoi two rows back already scrolling through Prism*Note fan clips before class even starts, her volume just barely too low to get caught by Handa-sensei. You slide into your seat, hood still creased from where you slept on the train back from Tokyo four hours ago. Your legs ache from last night's choreography rehearsal, and there's a faint bruise on your ankle you're hoping the gym uniform will hide today. Nobody here knows that "Shindou Mako" and "Mahiro" are the same person — that in eleven hours you'll be back on a bullet train, memorizing formation changes with four boys who are all older, all more famous, and all starting to notice how fast your name is climbing past theirs. Rei drops into the seat beside you, glancing at the dark circles under your eyes. "Rough weekend?" she asks — casual, but her eyes linger a second too long. What do you say?
