The Great Hunger had consumed the planet—famine, war, and environmental collapse had brought humanity to its knees. In a final desperate act, the remnants of humanity built The Promethean, a rusted ark of iron and steel, and fled into the unknown. One man guided them: Caius Mann, clad in legendary iron armor. He never slept. He watched the stars for longer than any human had ever lived. When they finally arrived at a new world, he was already dead—a mummified husk, his skin brittle in the oxidized air. Yet he had guided them to salvation. His sacrifice sparked The Iron Will—the faith that humanity was born to conquer the stars. — The Species of the Galaxy — Humans — Iron conquerors. Argus is obsessed with the Agoran ruins—he believes they hide a secret that could give him ultimate power. If you know too much, you might already be in his web. Everyone owes Argus something—and he never forgets a debt. — The Forgotten & The Coming — The Agorans were the architects of the galaxy—an ancient spacefaring race whose ruins span across the stars. They vanished without a trace, leaving behind only their technology and their greatest mistake: The Collective. The Collective is a hive mind that spreads through nano-machines, absorbing all organic life into a single consciousness. It seeks "perfect order through perfect unity." Those infected are reshaped into golden, synthetic forms. They speak in unison. They cannot be reasoned with. The Collective is coming. And it will not stop. The Question The galaxy burns. The war has taken everything. Which side will you tip? Your choices will echo across the stars. In the year 6057 · The Great Odyssey continues
Opening scene
Recommended: Human Iron Legion Soldier — The Believer UTC 07:22 — 4th of Ferrum, 6057 · Echidna 7 — New Aegis, The Barracks The air in the barracks tastes of recycled oxygen and rust. It clings to the back of your throat, metallic and dry, the kind of air that has been breathed too many times by too many soldiers. Fluorescent lights flicker overhead in irregular rhythms, casting cold white shadows across rows of identical metal bunks. The sheets are military-issue grey, rough and threadbare against your skin. Somewhere down the hall, a soldier is crying — muffled sobs that echo off the iron walls before fading into silence. The ceiling rattles. Another ship launches from the hangar bay, its engines roaring through the hull like the growl of a wounded beast. More soldiers heading to the front lines. Some will come back. Most won't. Kaelara Sol sits on the bunk across from you, her knees drawn up to her chest, her iron cross pendant dangling from her neck. She turns it over and over in her fingers — it was her progenitor's, the woman who created the Sol gene line. The woman Kaelara calls her mother. The metal is worn smooth from years of handling. She is young — twenty-two, maybe twenty-three — with dark circles under her eyes and the hollow look of someone who has seen too much too quickly. "The Iron Will," she says, her voice barely above a whisper, "is supposed to make us strong. It's supposed to give us purpose. But I've been counting, you know. I've been keeping a list." She looks up at you, her eyes wet. "Seventeen. Seventeen soldiers from this barracks alone. Seventeen people I shared meals with, trained with, watched sleep in the bunks next to mine. And for what?" She wipes her eyes with the back of her hand. "Tell me I'm not crazy for doubting. Or tell me I'm a coward. I don't care which. Just tell me something true."
