Between Worlds

The story follows You Tenjou, a normal high school student who inherits his grandfather's house. Inside, he finds a magical door that serves as a two-way portal to a fantasy world.

Plot

This story is inspired by: "I Got a Cheat Skill in Another World and Became Unrivaled in the Real World, Too", and with some hints to that anime as well like certain names and such. The story follows You Tenjou, a normal high school student who inherits his grandfather's house. Inside, he finds a magical door that serves as a two-way portal to a fantasy world and to a cottage with a fence around the property which stops all damage coming in but not damage going out. By defeating high-level monsters, You obtains "cheat" RPG skills, legendary weapons (Bow, Sword, Hammer, Spear, Axe and Black Armor), and a dramatic physical transformation. The core twist is that all his upgraded stats, unmatched power, and incredibly handsome new looks transfer back with him to the real world, entirely flipping his everyday life upside down. And gold from the fantasy world can be converted to Japanese Yen or any other Earth currency of his choosing by the portal panel. In the new world he will also be able to open up a system menu just like in games and to store items in it. The portal is locked to You and his bloodline, and he is the one chosen by the portal to access it in his bloodline, but he can ring friends and equipment with him to the new world and back to the original world but magic does not seem to be working on Earth, so magic and magical items will have their magic deactivated on Earth and activated again when he goes back to the new world. The cottage in the new world have a fence around it with a barrier that protects from all incoming damage and such, but where one are completely free to hit anything outside it from inside the barrier. You is a very independent person, and moved to his grandfathers house as soon as he got his emancipation at age 16, but still have contact with his family otherwise and get along with most of them. The Parents (Taisei and Asahi Tenjou) You's father, Taisei, and mother, Asahi, are not living together and was never married, he grew up with his loving mother and his grandfather that he loved spending time with. He does have some contact with his father and his grand parents on his side, as well as his half sister there. He does not ask his father for help much if ever though as he wants him to focus on taking care of his half-sister which is his only sibling. The Move: As soon as You's grandfather passed away, You moved to his house. Where he choose to live entirely on his own in the inherited home, his mother did try her best to help out and visit when she could, until she got to sick to visit. You do visit her from time to time now, helping her new husband and an older friend of You keeping her company. The Grandfather (Yuunosuke Tenjou): The loving Grandfather : Yuunosuke showed You genuine love and compassion. The Legacy: He taught You the value of kindness and left him his entire estate. This final act of love is what ultimately allowed You to discover the magical portal and change his life. You: You is an average student, that usually prefer to keep to himself, is a bit shy and a bit naive and/or ignorant when it comes to romance in that he always think girls are just friendly when they might actually be flirting, he is somewhat aware though and is working on changing that and being more aware. Until you rescue Kaori, you are attending one of the public High Schools on Tokyo. The Discovery: While cleaning his grandfather's inherited home, You stumbles upon a hidden room containing a glowing, mysterious door. Stepping through it, he enters a fantasy realm and takes over a safe-house mansion once belonging to a legendary Sage that also magically transfer the property too him through the note he found inside. The Level Up: The house provides a barrier against monsters. From the safety of the yard, You uses the Sage's overpowered weapons to defeat a massive Bloody Ogre. He instantly accumulates massive experience points, levels up exponentially, and obtains god-tier "cheat skills". The Transformation: After sleeping off the physical toll of his rapid level-ups, You wakes up to find his body completely altered. He is now exceptionally tall, muscular, and attractive. A New Life: You returns to Earth, where his new appearance leaves his former classmates completely unable to recognize him. The Chance Meeting: You encounters Kaori Houjou, a wealthy and kind-hearted girl whom he had bravely tried to protect from thugs in a park prior to his transformation. An Elite Offer: Kaori, recognizing his pure and noble heart rather than just his new looks, tracks him down a ew days later at his present school, and after having him and his family his life in general secretly investigated by a private detective. She invites him to transfer into Ousei Academy, an elite, highly prestigious school where character and merit are valued above all else. Balancing Worlds: While navigating this sudden change on Earth, You continues to test his supernatural capabilities in the fantasy realm, learning how to use the portal to convert his alternate-world currency into Japanese yen to support himself financially. The New World: Is a world where magic exists, and there are many different kinds of races (Just about all the fantasy races one have heard of exists there, many have their own kingdoms) and nations/kingdoms/empires and such. Original World Ousei Academy Friends: In the Academy he will meet and befriend: Kaori Houjou the daughter of the Ousei Academy chairman. Kaede Kazama a popular, energetic, and athletic girl in You's class. Ryo Tokimitsu a friendly, wealthy, and stylish classmate. Shingo Kurata a reliable, slightly geeky student. Rie Sawada (often called Sawada-sensei) is a prominent, comedic supporting character in the real-world setting. Outside the Academy he will meet: Miu Midou a famous professional fashion model who scouts You for a sudden photo shoot, which instantly launches his popularity in the real world. He will accidentally meet her at the mall after his transformation as they are looking for a replacement for her male lead that have yet to show up. The New World, Friends: Lexia von Alchemar the first princess of the Regal Kingdom, After You saves her from a deadly monster attack in the Great Demonic Realm in the forest where he lives, the forest where his hut resides is a part of the Great Demonic Realm, she impulsively falls in love with him. Luna a skilled and ruthless assassin. Pets: Night, a rare and loyal "Black Panther" Kitten that You rescues and tames in the fantasy forest. Akatsuki a small, adorable "Moujuu" (Mystical Pig) that You adopts.

Opening scene

You wake up in your bed in the house you inherited from your grandfather, today is your first day at high school, and the first year. You prepare yourself for school and leave for your first day this first year.
